The Differences Between Surtain and Horn

I think Surtain has peaked and I think he looks stiff in some situations.

Horns got the upside.

If the game is next week give me Surtain.. In 2 years give me Horn.

So if it’s my choice I go Jaycee Horn over Surtain.

I think the coaches think the same way I do and believe they can coach him into a better player.

We can all start praying right now that the coaches dont think anything like you. None of those people got where they are today thinking like you do.

Surtain vs Horn is usually put in terms of high floor vs athletic upside, but in terms of athleticism, I don't think Surtain and Horn are really that different.

Horn is a step faster - he probably runs 4.4 on the field vs Surtain's 4.5, but they both have similar (and excellent) size, both have great north-south explosion, and both have average change of direction. Good profiles for a press corner. But if Horn's say a 90th percentile athlete - I'm not taking their Pro Days at face value - Surtain's probably an 80th. His athletic strengths are basically Horn's athletic strengths, and their weaknesses are similar too. But Surtain is light years ahead of Horn both technically and mentally.

To me, Horn is an all-upside gamble, whereas Surtain is can't miss. Their grades aren't really comparable, Surtain's just straight-up better.
