The Dirty Dozen Series - Safeties

Argeed to a point. But a thug (when I think about it) is some punk who has no respect for the law or society. This is his first conviction and it ended up being misdemeanor assault. I say he has a serious self-control and respect issue(ie, spitting on a wifebeater [not the shirt], missing the rookie synopsium), but that doesn't make him a thug. I hate TO, i think he has a serious issue with his ego and he's very self-centered and abrasive, but i wouldn't call him a thug.

The dude is a wanna be thug. I mean this is his "best friend"

"I found at least 200 pairs of Timberlands, all brand-new, never been worn," says Bowen, referring to expensive and trendy hiking boots. "He left closets full of new clothes, fashionable stuff that didn't fit me, unfortunately. There were hundreds of photographs of people with machine guns and naked women sitting on their laps, boxes of photographs that I finally threw away a couple months ago."

In a laundry room near an in-ground pool, Bowen pulls down a box, which he opens to reveal shiny rows of ammunition.

"There were buckets of bullets when I moved in here," he says. "Buckets! Shotgun shells, handgun shells, machine gun, everything. Bullets in the shed, in every bedroom, everywhere, thousands of bullets."

In a maroon storage shed located in the back yard, Bowen says he unearthed cases of hard liquor. He points at a red Igloo cooler splattered with mud.
"That's where I found the marijuana, at least a pound of it," he says. "This was a party crib, for sure."

Birds of a feather flock together.

Doesn't come close to Roy in most stats? What stats are you talking about?
Tackles Sacks INT Pass Defended
Roy 81 2.5 3 7
Troy 91 3 2 6

I think a case could be made for either or, just based on stats but the fact is that Polamalu was on a super bowl team and their success (on D) is due in no small part to him.
Roy is good, but the Cowboys weren't a playoff team which factors into the equation.

I don't guess Roy played a part in the Dallas D being good, or Reed helped his defense... clearly not because niether of their TEAMS made it to the Super Bowl.

Playoffs? Ed Reed played for a 6-10 team.. clearly HE can't be a good player because his TEAM was bad.

How in the hell does the fact that a 53 player team isn't as good as another 53 player team factor into the quality level of ONE INDIVIDUAL player?
Is Randy Moss less of a reciever cuz the Raiders sucked? Is Torry Holt less of a player cuz the Rams sucked? Is Brian Dawkins less of a player because Philly wasn't good?.... etc. etc. etc.

Polamalu did everything he could to LOSE the Super Bowl by allowing the Tight End to run free on quite a few plays.

1. Troy Polamalu
2. Ed Reed
3. Roy Williams
4. Brian Dawkins
4. Sean Taylor
5. Adrian Wilson
6. Rodney Harrison
7. Mike Brown
8. Bob Sanders
9. Darren Sharper
10. Corey Chaveous
11. Donovin Darius
12. John Lynch

i watch the eagles every week and dont think Brian Dawkins even deserves the top 12 list if were talking last years performances

Reed is #1 but it is close. Polamu is allowed a lot of freedom that Roy is not.

Taylor is a thug. simple fact. From how he acted at college to the present day- he is a thug and sooner or later will be on the inside looking out and doing hard time. IT WILL HAPPEN.

Don't get me wrong, I love Roy. But I'd have to put Reed ahead of him on coverage skills alone. Lots of talented guys out there. Tough list to build.
