I can’t link the tweet because of the 3 letter news organization, but per Bones MM wanted to punt and Bones wanted the fake. So does the HC not override his coordinators? And apparently Bones doesn’t regret the call.

This entire thing is a 3 ring circus starting at the very tippy top.

Seemed like a read the punter should make depending on how the gunner corner is playing. Going for a block, or not watching the gunner? Throw it. Covered? Punt.

But if they want to go for it, go for it with your 60mil qb/Rush. Forget when it happened

our wonderful head coach was talked into it by fossil he called fossil went over and begged him to call a fake punt and he did it and he says he still doesn't feel bad about doing it but this was on the special teams coach he thought that he saw something that would work and it was dumb they should have punted

These type of plays the coaches are called geniuses when they work, and morons when they don't.

It did look like a poor play design though. The gunner wasn't fooled at all.

Better play was to go for 4&2 with the offense.
Or punt the fake punt was the third option and it should have never been done but that wasn't on Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy was talked into it by the special teams coach you already admitted he begged Mike to do it and Mike changed the play from punting they were gonna punt..

He should be fired immediately after the game. Or is he taking the blame for MM because of all the poor coaching MM does.

Agree.

Biggest problem now with Prescott is his lack of mobility. Even his biggest fans would have to admit that it's a huge issue.

People often claim, "you can't claim a Superbowl with a running quarterback"...but realistically in recent years you need a mobile one unless it's Tom Brady. Mahomes has fantastic ability to escape and extend drives, Hurts was excellent in the Superbowl, etc.

It might just be pure luck on our part, but my daughter and I both said, "I think they are going to try a fake punt here" when they lined up. It just seemed obvious to us at the time because of the situation. But, once it was noticed that Goodwin was covered at the line, Anger should have just kicked up.

Bones tells him what to do a lot like, for instance, if he wants to decide whether he wants to accept a penalty or not, you'll often see him gazing down the sidelines to Bones to get an answer.

These kind of calls are done by desperate teams. Should have just punted. I don’t even trust Dak and the offense to come up with the first down there. MM probably thinks he’s gone anyway.
