3 penalties for 10 yards. This was as ugly of a win as you will see. Credit to the Texans, they were a 3 score dog and in the words of Michael Jordan..they took that personally.

All that said, they played like a playoff team today and took us to the wire. That should make you very nervous, because they have 1 weapon, Pierce, and he ended up leaving with an injury. Everyone else is a JAG.

Real playoff teams are going to play like playoff teams, and actually have weapons. We better straighten some stuff out quick or this will all be over in Wild Card week.

Yes!

We still have a few dumb players. Fowler not containing the Texan QB when they are on the 2 yard line was so stupid. The Texans drove down and kicked a FG after that dumb play. He has made dumb plays all year. Learn from your mistakes!!!

There were dumb plays all over the place today. Thankfully we didn't have the number of penalties we normally do or this was an L.

Good post. I do have some additional comments as well.

This game shows several things. One, as I've said before, the level of play between the top teams and the bottom teams is pretty small. After weeding out the thousands of college players that can't hack the NFL game, you're left with the cream of the crop. Every team has a number of good to very good players. Only stands to reason that even the worst NFL team is still pretty good.
Two, emotion plays a big part. Those pretty good players, if they play all out, can play better than their record indicates.
Three, teams game plan for opponents, if a team like Houston, with one win in 13 games, makes a lot of changes, the other team can seem quite discombobulated, make mistakes, get off their game plan and not play well at all.
Four, being put as a 17 pt favorite can make it really easy for a team and it's players to get over confident. And once the other team starts kicking your behind, it can also be difficult to get back your intensity.

Make no mistake, I fully agree this was a supremely ugly win. Normally I'm of the "a win is a win" club, but when you realize Dallas had ZERO sacks, gave up 114 yards rushing and 8.3 yards per attempt by a second year quarterback you seriously have to realize this is not a SB caliber team, I'm sorry, it's just not. Won't be playing 1-10-1 teams in the playoffs, poorly played games like this will get you sent home in a hurry.

Still time to right the ship, but I don't think they can do it. Will be pleasantly surprised if they do....

Excellent points. Couldn't agree more.
