Hey, bros? I'm going to point out something about Ceedee Lamb's production over his still young career. I'm not necessarily suggesting anything. I'm just providing the numbers. You can make of it what you wish. You can think its meaningful or meaningless. You can be okay with the discussion or come at me and deal with the Pennsylvania Hands Exchange.

~no hands neck crack~

Now on to Lamb. A couple of months ago he was a fraud #1 WR around here and of course now he's one of the top 10 WRs in the game. That's the way we (you) roll.

He's really matured into a dominant player. We're watching him grow before our eyes. This guy is so much better than Drew Pearson.

But check this out. In Lamb's rookie year he was targeted 111 times. Coincidentally he's also been targeted 111 times so far this year. Here is his production with equal opportunity as a wide eyed rookie to now a vet #1...

2020: 74-935-5
2022: 69-928-6

You can reference his stats here.

Now before anyone says it, he's doing it now as the lead dog and getting that attention by defenses. He's also carrying more of a load with being targeted as many times in 12 games this year as he was in all of 2020. Some of you may think playing with Cooper Rush for 5 games this year helps explain it too but in 2020 Lamb had Andy Dalton for 9 and DiNucci and Gilbert for 1 each.

Maybe you think just attracting the attention as the 1 without Amari Cooper there to free you up explains this but aren't you at least a little bit surprised that this version of Ceedee in his 3rd year hasn't been any more productive on a per target basis than his rookie year with that motley crue of quarterbacks?

I certainly was.

No. His rookie year he was part of the best WR corp in football and was the #3 seeing 1:1s almost every game.

Now he’s the center of attention on one of the worst WR corps in football.

Ceedee has been doing it for 3 years now. Lamb was on pace for a 1400 yard season his rookie year before Dak went down. And that was a 16 game season average in 2020.

Cant fault the kid because he had Dalton for 2/3 of the year his rookie year and Rush for 6 games this year.

Now that Cooper is gone and he has been given a #1 type feature role he is getting to show more of what he can really do. But the talent was there to see for anyone to see.

Moore is better at using him and Dak is fully healthy. And the offense as a whole is rocking it.

Agree with the first part, but do you really believe they're one of the worst receiving corps in football?
Gallup is solid and Noah Brown ain't bad, although certainly not anyone to fear.

My buddy @Typhus will have plenty to say about this when he gets back in a week....
CeeDee is growing quickly...drops still make me a bit nervous, but it looks like his concentration level is improving week to week

The last big drop I can remember is against the Giants when Rush hit him in stride with would have been a 50 yard td and it hit him on the numbers. I’m sure he’s drooped some shorter ones but he’s made great strides since Daks return. He’s peaking just when the team needs it.

whether he can maintain it during the playoffs with press coverage remains to be seen. He’s not the biggest dude and I hope he doesn’t get thrown off his route early by this

If I may chime in here. They aren’t the worst in the league but certainly among the worst among the top contenders. I’m concerned more about their lack of depth in case of injury

It's really impressive how much he has improved in the little things as this season rolls on. He's responded to every one of my criticisms. He's establishing himself as a pros, pro in my eyes.

I aint gonna lie and act like this isnt a good question…

All ive got is if he had a better QB, hed have way better numbers. For instance, last game he shouldve had well over 100 yards but Dak threw one pass to him so high, victor wembanyama wouldnt have caught it. The other was the INT that the Colts were robbed of. It was a horrific throw behind him.

The ball hit the ground. and the db didn’t have possession.

I was hoping for some compliments.

I just proved he's not a more efficient player today than he was as a rookie and everybody ignored it.

Yes, MG is a shrine of what he used to be. Creating zero separation.
