After Romo's initial campaign (half of 2006 and all of 2007)......his records were

2008... 8-5
2009... 11-5
2010... 1-5
2011... 8-8
2012... 8-8
2013... 8-7

Based on the reasoning of WINs/LOSSes, he went WAY down. Kinda similar thing as Dak. Just trying to understand the anti-Dak Pro-Romo guys.

I hear Jim Thorpes winning record went down late in his career. (About as relevent to todays Cowboys team as Romo).

Screw Romo, he is History. But, yeah, most of Dak's fans always bring up Romo for some comparison of sorts without realizing that Romo broke his whole body for this team and if he had not been broken, Dak would have never seen the field his first year, yet, here they are, trying to uplift Dak by putting down Romo.

I like the way you left off Romos best seasons but who cares Romo is history.
Dak was a watermelon kick away from being 0-4. This season would of been bad either way except Dak escaped the horrible record he would have had this year while wanting to get paid like a SB winning QB. Ive never seen an NFL starter QB get pantsed the way Dak has over the years. Its just incredible how bad some of his games have been. The funny thing is every good NFL QB has some bad losses but counters them with some great wins against good teams. Dak counters his losses with running up the score on bad teams and then continually under perfoming in big games and against good teams.

What, and who, are the "anti-Dak/Pro-Romo guys"?

Seriously, where does this stuff come from?

It’s a team sport. Romo needed a defense to help win him games just like Dak needs one now imo
Still amazes me how people don't get this. Know when Elway finally won super bowls? When he finally had a great D. And he's one of a looooong list.

"He" went down? Compare, from the Football Database, based on yards per game allowed, Dallas defensive rating in those same years:

2008 - 8th
2009 - 9th
2010 - 22nd
2011 - 14th
2012 - 19th
2013 - 32nd

Extrapolating 2008's win percentage to a full 16 games, it would be 10-6 probably. So when Romo had at least a very good defense, he did well. Without it, not so much.

However Dak's best year, his rookie year, defense was 9th. 2017, 9-7 record, defense 8th. 2018, 10-6 record, defense 6th. 2019, 8-8, defense 9th.

Have to wonder what Romo could have done with a defense ranked 8th and 9th in 2010-13....
