The next announcement will probably be that the final movie has now been split into two installments.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again Now Called The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Peter Jackson announces film's name change on Facebook

The final instalment in The Hobbit trilogy is changing its name, with The Hobbit: There and Back Again becoming The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

The name change has been rumoured for the last week, and today Peter Jackson confirmed it on Facebook via the following statement…

Our journey to make The Hobbit Trilogy has been in some ways like Bilbo's own, with hidden paths revealing their secrets to us as we've gone along. “There and Back Again” felt like the right name for the second of a two film telling of the quest to reclaim Erebor, when Bilbo’s arrival there, and departure, were both contained within the second film. But with three movies, it suddenly felt misplaced – after all, Bilbo has already arrived “there” in the "Desolation of Smaug".

I liked the first installment. It was pretty "Disney", but that's what makes money nowadays- just ask Harvey Weinstein.
The second one- I just don't know...
There were some standout moments (Cumberbatch's Smaug, the dynamics of Laketown), but there was so much "kiddy-stuff" that they felt they just had to include that it turned me off.

I don't understand the budding relationship between the dwarf and the elf-girl. Why did they feel the need? So that they could include a storyline for Legolas in this arc? Hardly necessary to me. Reduces the integrity of the story also.

Still... I'll watch the final film. Maybe in the theater, maybe in the comfort of my own home where I can spit and laugh and ***** with impunity.
Wait... I do that in the theater anyways...

Remember watching the cartoon/movie that came out in the late 70's... That one was pretty good. They even made us watch it in like high school English or something.
