The Senior Bowl reports say that Butler has been getting schooled. Who knows? Other than that, I like it OK. I'd rather not take a CB with our top pick.

I for one would be thrilled with a draft like this one:

11 COWBOYS CB Antrel Rolle Miami

Antrel Rolle

Official Bio College: Miami (FL) Height: 6-1
Position: Cornerback Weight: 202
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.45
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Impact player in the secondary and a playmaker...Great size...Good speed and quickness...Excellent athletic ability...Does a nice job when asked to blitz...Very strong, physical and aggressive...Will come up and be a factor in run support...Very instinctive.
Weaknesses: Can shore up his technique a little...Can be too aggressive at times...Had an off the field situation with the law and was suspended from the team before his senior season but chargers were never filed...Some teams may project him as a safety rather than a corner.
Notes: Really made a name for himself by shutting down top wideouts such as Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin...Not in the same class as Charles Woodson or Champ Bailey were coming out by right there in the next tier with guys like Chris McAlister and Terence Newman...A potential shutdown cornerback in the NFL and one of the rare players who can dominate a game from the corner position...Should be one of the premier players available and a top pick.

20 COWBOYS DE David Pollack Georgia

Official Bio College: Georgia Height: 6-3
Position: Defensive End Weight: 261
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.7
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Production is unparalleled...Tough and fiesty...Has a motor that never stops and is always giving 110%...One of the most feared pass rushers in the draft...Tough and strong...Very quick and agile...A playmaker with great instincts...Won't be outworked...Great character.
Weaknesses: Is undersized and needs to get bigger and stronger...Doesn't have top end speed...May have trouble against the huge offensive tackles he will face in the pros.
Notes: Doesn't have all the physical tools you look for but has been one of the most dominant defensive players in the country the last three seasons...You can bet some team will fall in love with his production and attitude.

42 COWBOYS LB Darryl Blackstock Virginia

Official Bio College: Virginia Height: 6-4
Position: Outside Linebacker Weight: 240
Class: Junior 40-Yard: 4.7
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Has good size...Tall and rangy frame...Does an excellent job at getting after the quarterback and is a great pass rusher...Good quickness and has a burst...Excellent athletic ability...Very productive.
Weaknesses: A liability versus the run...Not a natural in coverage...Lacks fluid hips...Doesn't change direction well...Plays in a 3-4 defense that is perfectly tailored to his skills and may need to be in a similar scheme in the pros.
Notes: Overshadowed by Ahmad Brooks and Kai Parham at times...Would be a perfect fit at outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme...A little overrated due to his pass rush numbers and is basically still a raw, one-trick pony at this point.

103 COWBOYS S James Butler Georgia Tech

Official Bio College: Georgia Tech Height: 6-3
Position: Safety Weight: 210
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.55
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Very smart...Good size and a solid frame...A leader and hard worker...Excels in coverage as well as run support...A playmaker...Still has a lot of potential.
Weaknesses: Doesn't have a lot of starting experience...Good, not great speed...Has to get stronger...Raw and has a ways to go in terms of technique.
Notes: All of his weaknesses can be corrected and he is the type of guy who will put in the time to improve...Very good prospect who still has a lot of upside.

139 COWBOYS DT Darrell Shropshire South Carolina

Darrell Shropshire

Official Bio College: South Carolina Height: 6-2
Position: Defensive Tackle Weight: 299
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 5.10
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Has good size...Has excellent strength...Is very durable...Good quickness...Does an excellent job of stuffing the middle...A force against the run.
Weaknesses: Is not a great pass rusher and doesn't have many moves...Is not a great athlete or very fast...Won't chase anyone down...Does not move well.
Notes: Isn't a dynamic playmaker but he does his job and opens things up for others...Has the type of skills that lead you to believe he could be a good nose tackle in the pros.

201 COWBOYS OG Sam Mayes Oklahoma St

Sam Mayes

Official Bio College: Oklahoma St. Height: 6-3
Position: Offensive Guard Weight: 330
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 5.3
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Has excellent size...Very strong...Physical player...Works hard...Can be a dominating run blocker and is a roadgrader...Experienced.
Weaknesses: Needs to watch his weight and keep that under control...Has to stay in good shape to be effective...Only average as a pass blocker.
Notes: Has the tools to be an excellent blocker at the next level if he can keep his weight in check...Would be a perfect fit for a team that likes to run the ball.

I know what you mean... but Rolle IS a difference maker... not my first choice there... but I wouldn't complain...

I have more problems with Pollack at 20 and Butler at 103...

Blackstock would be a NICE addition in the second round...

Rolle is definitely a playmaker, but I see him as a FS in the NFL, and I don't want to spend a top 15 pick on a FS.

I'd love to get Blackstock in the second.

a draft like that would restore some of my faith in BP.
I definitely would be happy with Blackstock in round 2 also but I think we should consider a WR with one of our first three picks also.
Sam Mayes that late would be a gift from heaven.
I'd take Bullocks at FS over Butler.

I am with you on Bullocks... and better yet... maybe Fuller, Poole or Atogwe (sp) falls to us in later rounds...

Blackstock would be a STEAL at #2... and I would be SHOCKED if Mayes lasts that late... Mankins or Buenning may be available on day 2 as well...

With the way they put the players out I think i might like a draft of

Merriman
Williamson
Tuck

Better than what they have there.

Blackstock I like also, but I'm not sure I wouldn't rather get a miltiposition player and a DE than a CB and a olb.
