So I'm watching the rasslin' with my son, something we do weekly. He mentions Darby Allin looking like The Joker....

me.....so you ended up taking that blonde to see it? (we were going then I changed my mind after reading some bad reviews)
Mason....Brenda, yeah Phoenix was great, great flick
me.....I have yet to see it, what two years?

So there we are watching some AEW action....

Guess what is on TV Saturday night, yep...The Joker.

What are the odds of me bringing it up out of nowhere and BOOM....there it is? Weird.....or is it, I do that kind of thing a lot, a few months ago I start thinking about an old buddy, a few days later,,,,,rinnggg rinngggg.

Do own a 56inch 4KHD but obviously can't compare to the theater. Will make it work however, a half pint/cherry coke works.

It has not happened to T.V. programming yet, but advertisement is changing. It is switching from mass produced advertisement by age groups, gender, and personalities to individual advertisement. When they get rid of standard tv and everything is personally streamed, it will get to a point where when you think of something it will be advertised or presented to you.

That is what all the data mining and data selling is for. Prediction, better advertisement, and etc. Your viewing habits, buying habits, like/dislike buttons, will be so data mined that AI will be able to predict with high accuracy what you are thinking, what you like, and give it to you. There are a few steps needed, such as streaming regular tv channels or a hub for all tv, movie, video game, social media. But you can all ready see the start of it with suggested movies/tvshow with programs like netflix.

If you go further down the technology rabbit hole, the new smart fridges keep track of what you eat, and will be able to order you more food when needed and have it delivered. The alexa type devices, will monitor all technology including cars, present, and schedule everything to your liking.

There is natural quantum connection between people, like your buddy example, and a very unnatural one that is forming with ai/technolgy. One is amazing and shows how uniquely and beautifully created humans are, the other should scare people with the control system that is being laid down.

I seriously doubt there will ever come a time any of us are scared of anything, just don't see that happening.

I guess, but we are not hard to predict. Humans for the most part do the same things, and are a product of repetition. We are helping to create ai programs that will be able to predict what we are thinking by participating in the like/dislike, typing of our thoughts, picture posting/analysis, and so on.

What I meant by being scared of, is when all our electronic devices connect. They are getting pretty close to connecting them all, and the systems that connect them are being put in place. What will be "scary" is when you can not escape them or participate without them

Not buying any of that we will be doing what we want anytime we want and nobody/nothing will be changing anything we plan on doing.

And nobody can predict what I'm thinking.

And who are talking about that would predict our thoughts and why would anyone care?

Big fan of sci fi, can see you are also.

People will not be able to do it, but AI programs will. For example, assuming you have posted a lot in the football portion of cowboys zone over a few years, a high percentage prediction of what you are thinking could be made. If there is a program to analyze what someone has typed about players, rules, and teams over a few years, and analyze every post they have liked or disliked, they could be categorized. It could analyze what topics you choose to respond to and what topics you don't participate in, and your thoughts on them.

Depending on the amount of information you input, an algorithm could be written to predict what you are thinking and what you will think about football. If you allowed a program to listen through your phone or tv and analyze what you say to your friends or family about football and what you say while watching the game, it would increase the accuracy of predicting your thoughts about football. And depending on what you input reading your mind gets easier and easier

If you blow that up an expand it, you have what I am talking about.
1. There are now people in there 20's who have lived their whole life through the internet
2. They have posted their thoughts on everything in social media
3. They have millions of likes/dislikes in various programs
4. They have posted thousands of pictures of themselves being happy, sad, etc, and showing their progression through life
5. They have complete details of their buying history through credit cards, products, purchase dates, patterns

All of this is recorded and is data. If you write a good enough program or algorithm you can predict their thoughts. They have entered enough data to allow it.

Computer chips and wifi capabilities are being put in all electronic devices. There is a connection being formed. Data mining is a huge business, and all the social platforms and internet related systems are doing it. There are AI algorithms being written to sort, categorize, analyze all of it. Profiles on everyone are being created and they will continue to improve.

It will lead to a control system. The masses will be able to be manipulated by knowing what they are liking/disliking, thinking, what to sell them, and so on. I personally believe this is already being used on a massive scale. I can not talk about it on here, but one example is cambridge analytics and the role they played in an US event about 5 years ago.

On a small scale and what we started talking about, a movie like the joker can be guessed as a thought pattern by data you have entered, or could be picked up by an electronic device with wifi you spoke near, and presented to you on tv. This sort of stuff is happening and will continue to happen more frequently and more accurately. Personalized and controlled advertisement and presentation

Scary.

W/ today's "thinking" computers being developed, suddenly movies like "The Terminator" don't seem so far fetched.

No joke. I posted a lockeed martin news article a while back about a multi drone interface program that was created. Before we had people remotely flying military style drones and controlling them. This was a program for AI drones. What it did was allowed multiple drones and types of drones to be controlled by one program. You can link up your flying drones, drone tanks, drone boats, and robot style drones and control them through one program. It also including a mobile wifi drone to keep everything connected. You could launch a full multifaceted war through a computer program and AI drones

I like to follow the different weapon technologies, and those AI/robotic drones are available now. Russia has tanks that auto lock on targets, and all they have to do is hit fire, they do not even have to aim. It is early stages, but 10 years from now this technology will be really advanced.

Not just termintor, but star wars drone wars.

Joker was a very good movie that could have been much better in my opinion. The film had the right atmosphere. It received an Oscar nomination for cinematography and even won for original score.

I place its shortcomings on Todd Phillips, who did receive a Best Director nomination. To me, it just did not seem the movie met the same lofty level of Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar winning performance. Even so, it is a good enough movie that it will receive much repeated cable replay for a long time to come.

Joaquin Phoenix's performance. Heath Ledger's earlier performance in The Dark Knight was outstanding but I would argue that (in some ways) Phoenix exceeded his. Phoenix captured the true mass murderous sociopathic essence of one of comicdom's greatest villains.

Phillips did a very good job creating incremental layers through each act, establishing a definitive origin story. What I did not appreciate was Phillips' sporadic lack of detail for supporting characters. Certainly, the focus of the movie should be the mental illness that crafted such an evil character but not at the cost of truly showing how much others could have driven the character's descent into madness.

Not sure of the composer but the movie's original score was superb. Honestly, the cinematography grew on me after re-watching the film. At first, I thought it was too 'greyish' but afterwards have enjoyed how it matches the overhanging depravity of Gotham.

I only watched it once, and I think Phoenix did a good job. I found it disturbing though, and I wont watch it again. I have liked a lot of disturbing movies, so I am not sure why this one rubbed me the wrong way.

I will have to check out the score for it.

a few months ago I start thinking about an old buddy, a few days later,,,,,rinnggg rinngggg.

There are lots of avenues to go down with this type of thinking.

Some people do this sort of stuff a lot. I believe twins do it more than normal. Moms knowing something has happened to their child when the child is not close.

There are lots of accounts where people get organ transplants and start having memories and changes in things they like or dislike that coincide with the person they got the transplant from. I have heard talk or theories about people taking blood samples and separating them from the person, and changes that happen to the person blood in the body also happen to the sample.

There is talk and theories that our dna or bodies are actually like antennas, and we all have our own frequencies. There are a whole bunch of connections that are being made with with this line of thinking and a rule we can not talk about on here (which I am most interested in), and another viewpoint of medians, physics, etc.

I would experiment with it if I were you. When something of abnormal value happens, start thinking about that one old buddy, or someone else you have connections with, and see if you can get them to call you.

Not sure what I expected but what I got was a disappointment, yes, the performance by Phoenix was amazing but the movie sucked.

So this was about long before Batman since we saw his parents shot down, so somebody decided to revive the Joker character years later, no?

Surprised DeNiro agreed to be a part of it.

What did Phoenix do to his body, oh....yuck! Funny thing is DeNiro put on like 50 pounds to play the aged Jake LaMata, story goes peanut butter and jelly sandwhichs.
