The Joker

What do you think the selling of and analyzing of data is for or turning into?

Who is selling data? Who is buying that data and be specific.

There is nobody out there who knows anything about me and they never will. Ah.....I follow football....wow!

Who is buying and for how much is something worth researching. It is happening

I read your thread on dallascowboys.com and figured out you are ignorant in the way Big data, technology, profiling, advertising and etc is heading, haha. So, I know something about you.

Most people do not find the topic interesting, but I do. People don't read terms they agree to which allows companies to sell their data.

Example 1
I will try to paint one more picture for you in what is already happening and soon to be common place. It has always happened with polling and stuff, but not to what is now available. I am going to put it in terms of running for a leader of the country, but can't be specific due to site rules. The cambridge analytic example I gave you.

Lets say you are running for leader and you have a data mining company working for you, and friendly media outlets. The data mining companies are buying data off social media companies and internet search companies among others. They have AI algorithyms that analyze every post or search that uses key words, and analyzes the likes/dislikes. They monitor what is trending. The more input of information the company is using the better the picture they get.

The person comes out and talks about a controversial topic. Everything is then data mined. You get a statistical analysis of how everyone responded over social media, searched for the topic, what the demographics are, who liked it, disliked it, found it funny, hated it, etc. You find out what information people are getting first hand, second hand, where they are getting if from. You do this over and over and the picture gets clearer and clearer.

You use your friends in media to run stories over and over or down play stories. You data mine who is following this or that, when to change topics when to repeat something over and over. And you data mine your way to being leader.

Example 2
Lets say you have one of the worst withdrawls from a country you were occupying, topic 1. You data mine how everyone is responding good and bad, and decide you need a distraction. A disappearance of a girl story and the manhunt for the boyfriend are run over and over 24/7 for 2 or 3 weeks topic 2. You can bring in a r acial aspect to and further distract people. You continue to data mine and push topic 2 until topic 1 is no longer pulling the numbers it should, then fade out topic 2, and move on to something else. The beauty of small attention spans. And no one knows about the poppy fields.

That is the best way I can type it out with out putting much effort in, and I didnt do a good job. Data mining is mass manipulation that people are doing to themselves. If you agree to terms on an app that allows the microphone on your phone to be data mined, then they can use programs to listen for key words and for example, find out how to advertise stuff to you.

I have taken your thread off topic and I will stop, but soon people will talking about a joker movie with their friends, and it will instantly be an option available when they turn on their tv or log on to something

Not sure what I expected but what I got was a disappointment, yes, the performance by Phoenix was amazing but the movie sucked.

So this was about long before Batman since we saw his parents shot down, so somebody decided to revive the Joker character years later, no?

Surprised DeNiro agreed to be a part of it.

What did Phoenix do to his body, oh....yuck! Funny thing is DeNiro put on like 50 pounds to play the aged Jake LaMata, story goes peanut butter and jelly sandwhichs.
I was very disappointed with the movie. Ledger set such a high bar with his portrayal, that it will by close to impossible to ever match his performance.

Yea, and it was a good plot. That opening bank robbing scene was smooth

Replace the word ignorance with dsinterested and ya have it.

So what do we do about that, yep.....nothing.

Yes it was a disappointment, and I agree Ledger ruined it for anyone else,
