It is set up for Dak to count against the cap 60 million next season it's 60 million if he's not extended it's 62 million in dead cap if he's waived, they also gave him a no trade clause which to me is unheard of for a QB who hasn't won anything. I like many others have lost faith in Dak completely but I can't see a way that they bench a player set to make 60 million in a season or cut a player that counts against your cap 62 million.

Also keep in mind Micah and CeeDee extensions are coming up. I've seen estimates that Micah could make 35 million+ and CeeDee could make close to 30 million. You'd be paying close to 130 million for 3 players.

The only way out is for the Jones to do what they always do is move money to the future but the only way to do that is to extend Dak.

They've done this before with TRomo contract. Nobody questioned that.

They might be able to talk dak Into a trade. I'm sure he's had enough of being in the dallas spotlight.

In theory, you could designate him a post June 1 cut or trade. You would still take a big hit on the cap but then you could see if Lance or draft pick QB could pick up the pieces. I wouldn't pay the extension Dak would be asking for.

Dak is not the guy. Shouldn’t even be in the same sentence with Romo. If Dak had Romo’s coaches and defense, he would be out of the league by now. A 6-10 or 5-11 quarterback. Sure, Jones is a bad GM with Dak’s contract, but Dak is a joke. And everyone saw Dak pee his pants last night.

The Jones are terrible at contracts and back themselves into a corner with Dak Prescott

It started on his rookie deal when they wouldn't give him an extension after the 3rd year. Then they franchised him.

The problems have been on going and now they backed into a corner you're right.
