I will preface by saying please avoid spoilers.

I have yet to see the last Jedi and unfortunately there are no more theaters showing it where I live. This sucks because now I have to wait for it to come out on dvd or one of the streaming platforms.

Was the last Jedi any good? I remember when the force awakens came out I had to actively avoid spoilers because discussions for the movie were everywhere. With the last Jedi I hardly had seen anyone talking about it even up until it’s release.

Also what do you guys think of the upcoming Han Solo movie? While I always liked the character in the original trilogy I feel like his Solo movie (no pun intended) is going to be uninteresting and forced. Obviously I could be wrong and I hope I am.

Realistically, who cares about lando or Han Solo himself before the events of the original trilogy? Solo was only relevant in my opinion because he was a flawed unlikely hero that fought with the rebels against the empire and hooked up with leía and had Kylo ren. Somewhere in there i am sure Jabba the hut and boba fett are sprinkled in. Other then that what is there?

To put it bluntly, the Last Jedi is polarizing. Some love it and some hate it. There seems to belittle in between. I myself had to see it more than once to form a solid opinion.

The good news is that you only have to wait until March 27th for the home release.

As for the Solo movie? "I've be got a bad feeling about this."

From the original idea of it, I've been wary. And then after the co-directors were fired deep into filming, that feeling got worse. And then when I read about how extensive the reshoots were, it got even worse.

As a huge fan, I hope to be surprised, but I'm not going in with high expectations. To be honest, I'm expecting a rethinking of the plans for the franchise going forward. Where they were once talking about side films focusing on classic characters like Yoda, Kenobi, and Boba Fett, I think the reactions to the Solo movie will cause them to change those plans.

I liked The Last Jedi and am looking forward to Solo as the trailer looks pretty good. I also liked Rogue One as the fill in before SW IV, A New Hope.

I don''t know any franchise that gets more criticism from the followers because all have expectations where the next one should go and when it doesn't, they get pissed. I liked the idea of Rogue One and Solo because they break that chain and affect expectations.

However, let me say, I am pretty lenient on all Star Wars episodes as I love the franchise and own all of them and still watch 1-3 on SW binge watching.

Solo was the comic relief in the Star Wars movies, so I'd expect it to be more humorous than previous movies.

It's only a few weeks until TLJ comes out.

That said, it's good from a technical standpoint, but pretty bad from a storytelling standpoint. Terrible (and in many areas pointless) plotting, dumb characters making completely insane decisions, and a disregard for much of the storytelling done in previous installments.

I think Solo could be good, but I wasn't not very impressed by the trailer.

I am one of those odd balls who have enjoyed every Star Wars movie. However, there is a difference in my opinion of what is bad, poor, fair/good, great and excellent. For me, The Empire Strikes Back was excellent. A New Hope was great. To me, The Last Jedi was good by comparison.

Personally, I am anticipating what the movie will bring to the overall saga more than being excited. I did not agree at first but now think Alden Ehrenreich will do really well as young Han. Beautiful Creatures is an understated favorite of mine and he was very good in it from a teenaged character perspective. The current movie's character will be older but I foresee Ehrenreich bringing the same yet a more mature persona than his BC character portraying Han. I think Donald Glover has the tougher job of the two. Billy Dee Williams did not have the same overall screen time as the rest of the main original cast. Williams founded Calrissian solidly into the original trilogy but it may take Glover more effort convincing the audience he is the younger version of Lando. If both Ehrenreich and Glover hit home runs, Solo should be a smash in my opinion.

For me, both were spoken of as previous Rebellion leaders in Return Of The Jedi, so I am highly interested in what their roles were in the conflict and how well they performed. But take my interest with a grain of salt. I was very interested in seeing the events that occurred before A New Hope, so Rogue One was highly anticipated by me and ended up being a really enjoyable chapter of the saga.

I hated The Last Jedi. It to me had little to be excited about. The plot seemed so easily to be figured out. The only thing to me that was good was Luke Skywalker and even Mark Hamil apologized to his fans about this movie before it was released...... Some PC stuff I didn't care for and that really got on my nerves and maybe turned me off on the movie.

The Last Jedi had some weird scenes, but it was good. Rouge One was outstanding! Hope Solo is awesome!

If you go into the Last Jedi expecting plot holes, poorly developed story, and completely out of character actions but with some humor and some entertaining effects, you might enjoy it. However, if really glaring plot holes and bad writing take you out of a movie, then you'll hate it. Go in with super low expectations and you'll be okay.

I'm hoping Solo will hearken back to the OT or maybe even Rogue One and have very little similarity to TLJ or TFA.
