The Last Jedi - Episode VIII

Comeon. They can do better than that! I guess it's better than : revenge of the Jedi

Title's alright.

Just seems more final than the 2nd part of the series... like "attack of the clones" or "empire strikes back".

Needless to say; I'll probably see it twice in theatres.

Yup. lol

Soooo... if they projected a number let's say... $1billion.... then we see it 3x ... is that $3 billion.... or did they factor our fanaticismfandom into it already? Lol

Someone said it completes a sentence.

The force awakens the last Jedi.

Part 9 ... rest of sentence?

.... Dark and Light Times

not necessarily. sounds like Luke will die, and Rey becomes the last Jedi.

The Last Jedi because now those with a strong connection to the force will follow a different path. They no longer need to cling to the Jedi or Sith ways and still can become masters of the force.

As I saw noted in other places Jedi is both singular and plural.

Given the word Jedi, it could be either one of Luke or Rey, or it could be both of them?

Luke could be the Last Jedi. And after instructing Rey in the ways of the Force, together they are the Last Jedi.

While it could be one or more Jedi.

In TFA, Snoke refers to Luke as "the last Jedi".

I mean... Jedi = singular or plural

Snoke could have said that "Luke was the last of the Jedi"... but still I think it's singular. At least when Snoke says it.

For episode 8 it could be both singular and plural. But I think it's just Luke.

"When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be..."
- Yoda to Luke, Return of the Jedi.

No reason that the Jedi couldn't just go away. The Sith seem to be extinct and replaced with other Dark Side groups (Knights of Ren, etc). They've been setting the table with the Church of the force, and the Journal of the Whills and all that. Force sensitive people who are not Jedi or Sith.
