The less Dak, the better

Can someone please explain to me why this a thing? Colin says this every single time he opens his mouth on the Cowboys.

In the last 2 years...... when throwing for 35+ times a game:

Josh Allen - 10-8
Dak Prescott - 8-8

Am I seeing the huge difference? Btw, in case people get trigger happy.... I'm not arguing that Dak is better than Allen, but I'm just wondering where this "less Dak the better" thing comes from when evidence suggests this has little credibility. Our passing game is essential to our success. When a running game (anybody's) gets halted, every team struggles a bit.

Less Dak means more running. That is the blueprint for the Cowboys to win. Has nothing to do with Josh Allen. You run to open up the passing lanes. Football 101.
Just wondering why that's only said about Dak when it seems like a successful running game and getting the game to 3rd and 5 or less is the preferred option for any team.

True but when the run game struggles as if did early in the game Cowboys did not just keep pounding the ball in there trying to get it, Dallas passed the ball Dak had 33 passes in the game and that helped loosen up the run defense of Tampa.

I think in many ways it is a backhanded comment towards dak. I want to see Dallas be balanced and take what the defense is giving you on that given day. In the end however no team can hide a QB and that QB must step up and make the plays. Last night Dak did just that.

Teams that throw it a ton usually means they’re losing or playing from behind.

It’s a media hot take trying to drum up a narrative for fans that don’t understand football.
This.

It’s correlation without causation. Teams that are winning run the ball more to run the clock. That makes it look like running the ball more leads to more wins.

They didn't lit the world on fire running the ball and they haven't in weeks.

Your first mistake is listening to these hot take jocks who say crap to try and get ratings and sound smart. They're idiots.. and they know they're idiots.. and they are counting on you to also be an idiot so they can keep getting paid.

It's said about many quarterbacks, not just Dak.
But because the Cowboys get more media attention, it seems as if everyone is picking on Dak.
But the run more-pass less has been a part of football since the birth of the forward pass.

The reasons (not all but some) are because ...
1. Running controls the clock, meaning the game goes by faster if you're running than passing and definitely if you have a lead
2. Running wears a defense down. See the 90s Cowboys and the 90s Giants.
3. Running doesn't expose your quarterback to more hits
4. Runners can only fumble; quarterbacks can fumble AND throw interceptions, increasing the ability to turn the ball over to the other team.

The reason Dak has been the focus of the media is because ...
1. He plays quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys - the most prominent position in American sports
2. He has had multiple games where he has thrown pick sixes.

The criticism Josh Allen is getting is the same Dak has received - he (Allen) does too much and throws too many picks. He needs help with a running game.
I suspect if the Texas RB is available when Buffalo picks in the first round, that's their selection.
Allen needs help; otherwise, he's not going to last too long.

Run game did nothing to win the game last night. Dak was far more important than the run game

When teams are ahead, they run more. Teams that are ahead usually end up winning.

When teams are behind, they pass more. Teams that are behind usually end up losing.

"Run the ball and we'll win! The less Dak, the better! Check out these numbers as proof!"

It's almost as dumb as saying, "The less we see from Bryan Anger, the better!"

Yes, because a punt means your offense failed. It doesn't mean Anger's not good at his job.

I think that they showed last night that more Dak as a runner in the mix helps both our run game and our past game. I do not think that Dak should run to the level of a Fields or a Hurts or Allen but 4 or 5 times a game would be nice. It just puts so much pressure on the defense.

I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage because I have not listened to him in several years. I guess I've never needed other people to tell he who is good and who isn't. I can watch the games and decide that for myself. I used to be amused and entertained by some of those talking head shows but I have long since grown weary of them shamelessly using the Cowboys to boost their ratings. The amount of contorting they do to relate any and all stories about football back to the Cowboys has disgusted me to the point of just not wanting to consume any more of it. I refuse to give these idiots another ratings point. I strongly urge more people to do likewise.. that way we stop helping them get rich from dogging our team and our players. The only time I watch any of those shows is out of the morbid curiosity of wanting to see how they spin a game like last night.. They either have to come up with all manner of ridiculous rationalizations as to why the Cowboys winning and playing well "didn't really count" or they flip flop like that idiot Orlovsky and claim "I knew Dak was great all along.." But I can't consume any of them in more than tiny doses. My stomach just aint as strong as it used to be.
