Hey guys,

so I have seen alot of "everything's alright" and on the other hand alot of "the sky is falling" threads appear since yesterday's astonishingly clear loss. To be honest I was kinda shocked that it was a San Fran like loss and not a closer game. The Bills just aren't that good and "desperate" really can't be an argument. All teams are desperate, especially in the play offs. You gotta win these games.

Now, the worst part of these threads is all that "calling out" out people for their opinions / thoughts. The simple truth is, there is no one and only way to feel about this team. There is no only valid fandom. There are just fans. And like with anything in life people take things up differently and deal with it all in their individual own way.

I am one of the "neutrals", tending to sceptism. Even though I'm 100% sure I have never spilled any hate about the Cowboys here or anywhere else some peeps would call me a "hater" or "quitter" or whatever. Just because even when the Cowboys were winning all those games I stood by my sceptism while acknowledging that this team could win it all. But this is not the point of this thread.

The point is, the Cowboys true problem (at least as far as this roster is concerned) was never it's potential. They can beat anyone on any day in any stadium. The real problem is their consistency. They basically have none. At least against above 500 teams.

So most so called "haters" do not deny the Cowboy's qualities on and off the field. They have alot of talent among players and the coaching staff. They have a good scouting team. And every now and then the FO does find a gem (Aubrey anyone?). So all in all we're pretty much set to win it all.

But we have seen this time and time again. This team did have some awesome streaks in the past. Remember the first seven games of the 2021 season. Even the loss against a strong Tampa was encouraging. But regular seasons bear one striking difference compared to play offs: Alot of bad teams take part in them and give you the chance for easy wins. The play offs usually come up with teams such as Buffalo, San Fran or the Eagles. And that's where (in)consistency strikes. One week yay, one week nay. And so far this team hasn't been able to prove that it can be top notch week in week out.

Long story short, being a fan is okay either way. Some focus on the good points and want to believe. Others just can't overlook the shortcomings and stay sceptic or at least neutral. But we all enjoy the wins and are heartbroken after losses. And as far as the sceptics go, see it this way: they are also true fans simply because they stick by their team even without all that faith the homers have. That's something that will always unite us. We"re all bleeding blue. So let's stop the calling out of people for their opinions. Personally I think this is absolutely toxic for this forum and shouldn't be accepted. No one can foresee the future, it's all just guessing. And you aren't a better fan just because you "see" more wins along the road. We're just fans of a team that has it all, they're just not bringing it to the table often enough. But who knows... :)

Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

Good post. Well said. I also agree that we as Cowboys fans have enough frustration with the teams play and we don’t need to take that frustration out on any other Cowboys fans. We’re all brothers and sisters here. Let’s act like it and support each other.

You're also not a better fan for seeing "less" wins. It's easy to bet the field, and pretty foolish to choose otherwise.

As far as this team goes they are very good and at times great, but like you said they aren't consistently great and that's what you have to be to win it all.

Unfortunately it does appear history will repeat itself. I see no way we come out of this game a better team. All the lessons that needed to be learned have long since been taught.

You did, bottom of the last paragraph. "And you aren't a better fan just cause you see more wins along the road."

I was just attempting to balance out what I thought was your point. No heat intended brother. I believe you know it's goes both ways.

Inconsistent
Undisciplined
Lack physicality
No accountability
Lacking talent in important areas
Poor coaching
Cant handle pressure

Otherwise we are “good”

Yes I do but from what I've seen it's the "fans" calling out the sceptics all the time. So I felt I just needed to mention this side. Of course you're right, both "sides" shouldn't fall back on this rhetoric.

Yeah I think it depends on which way the wind blows. Since the loss there are a lot more sceptics. When we are winning it goes the other way.

This board is huge on recency bias. We go from contenders with an MVP QB, to trash over the course of a game.

Dallas teams have been generally weak since Jones took over as GM....throw in a few good seasons of 12 or 13 wins...but then get knocked out in one game. Even Garrett had some average or above average quality teams under him but failed as well in the playoffs......where this team sucked... And now we are seeing the same so far with MM. So he has not shown to be an upgrade as yet. Same undisciplined and mentally weak team. I think we all see the writing on the wall on this team, whether you want to admit or not is up to you.
