The Mock in a Perfect World

Dallas trades up to #6 and drafts CB Patrick Peterson, LSU (gives up 3rd round pick)

Dallas trades down in the 2nd round; gets a late 2nd and a late 3rd in return

2nd round: G/C Danny Watkins, Baylor

3rd round: DE/NT Kenrick Ellis, Hampton

4th round: ILB Kelvin Sheppard, LSU

5th round: FB Henry Hynoski, Pittsburgh

6th round: OT Derek Newton, Arkansas State

7th round: OLB Bruce Miller, UCF

Discuss!

i could more than live with that. Not a PP homer but he has obvious skills that could help us. Would rather go OT at 9 than give up a 3rd but if he slid to us at 9 i'd be ok with his pick.

Love the Watkins pickup for the interior of the OL.
Shepperd is great to groom under Bradie then step in. I honestly think he'll be on our radar come draft day.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, now I gotta add that conditional 7th rounder! How about:

QB Greg McElroy, Alabama

I'm starting to think the best way for us to utilize our picks would be to trade up for Peterson and then trade down in the 2nd, as well. It would really be the optimal way for us to maximize this draft if we could find partners in both rounds.

Nice mock, you had me at Ellis. :laugh2:

Haha! I love Ellis because he can play NT and the 5 technique, and we all know how Rob Ryan loves to move his players around. I think he's a perfect fit in our scheme, and will help to prolong Ratliff's career.

Three starters in the first three rounds. Hard to beat that.

Stick Shiloh Keo S from Idaho somewhere in the later rounds and I would be ecstatic.
