You might follow a few NFL and other sports "insiders" on social media. Folks like Ian Rappoport, Adam Schefter, and others have millions of combined followers, hoping to discover breaking news when it breaks.

PrettyRickey213 is an anonymous account. His location? It only says "Hudson Valley, NY" in his bio. His appearance? Well, his profile picture is no human. It is actually an image of Spuds MacKenzie. He claims to be "the peoples NFL insider".
This would understandably be seen as a joke account, or a troll account; some sort of prank... if PrettyRickey213 wasn't always breaking legitimate NFL news, often before anyone else does.
Ian Rappoport announced the breaking mews of Trevor Lawrence's extension on June 13th, at 6:45 pm. Schefter was two minutes later, barely beaten by Ian.
However, PrettyRickey213 beat them both to the punch by 20 minutes. And he added that it would not surpass Burrow's contract. He was right.
PrettyRickey213 also said that Odell would likely sign with the Dolphins weeks before it happened.
Rickey broke the news that Amon Ra St-Brown was getting a new deal 90 minutes before Adam Schefter. In the same tweet, er, x, Rickey claimed that Goff would also get a deal soon, whereas Schefter said a deal was "not immenent". Rickey was correct, and Goff signed a few weeks later.
Rickey broke the news of Justing Jefferson's new contract 42 minutes before Rappoport did.
Rickey was also the first "NFL insider" to suggest Darren Waller would retire. Waller retired a few weeks later.
Imagine Rappoport at home in the shower, shampooing angrily, seething, just wishing he had the connections that PrettyRickey213 has.
Rickey has gotten some things wrong. He said the Patriots would take JJ McCarthy in the draft, for example. But these guys all get stuff wrong on occasion, and Rickey's track record so far is rock solid. He was not the only "insider" to suggest JJ might go to the Patriots.
That leads us to the question we all want to know the answer to, but it's simply not available to us right now - who is PrettyRickey213? An NFL Front Office guy messing around on Xwitter? An active player? Rodger Goodell? A mystic who is merely interested in the NFL? Some normal guy with abnormal connections?
Who knows. But keep on the lookout for breaking news from this mystery man.
