took the kids to Six Flags yesterday and that is one fun coaster, what an improvement over the old bone jarring Giant. Worth the 10 million dollars they spent on it.

Give me details. I've been wondering about it. I literally thought I was going to die the last time I rode before renovations.

I've ridden it in the FIRST car and the very LAST car. INSANE in the last car with the drag. That first drop is rediculous. Soooo much smoother, and I love the half-loops. The tunnel with the mist is a nice addition too. So glad it's ridable again.

Nice, thats great to hear. I will have to check it out the next chance I get.

I absolutely hated the old Texas Giant. I rode it one time and got off of it with a massive migraine headache. I'll have to check the new one out when I get back to Dallas.

The old wooden roller coasters like the one at six flags and the beast at kings island could be brutal.

Especially if you are the type that will raise your hands/arms in the air during the drops. I remember one time getting bruises on one side of my body from doing that and the jarring of the car/tracks...my side was slamming against the side of the car.

I have really been wanting to go back to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. If you are a lover of roller coasters that place is the best.

Ditto that.

I saw this from the interstate last week when I was driving to the Rangers game (the one where the fan died). I had to slow way down and drive very careful so I could watch it...looked amazing :)

I didn't get a chance to ride in the front but we did ride in the back a couple of times and it is just one air time after another, never lets you catch your breath instead of getting the breath knocked out of you with the old Giant. It has a real padded lap bar with really nothing to hang on to so you just throw your hands up and have fun. The fact that it got stuck a week ago and the riders had to get out and walk down the lift hill just added to the thrill of the first drop, which is insane in the back row.

Great video, but it still doesn't do it justice.
nope, you gotta ride it. Riding it after dark was really cool. Of course in true Six Flags fashion the flash pass didn't work for the Giant but it really wasn't busy, we rode it 7 or 8 times and never waited more than 15 minutes. I actually wasted my money on the Flash Pass for the first time. Maybe the heat kept people away.

Screw that. You guys can have it.

There isn't anyway on this planet, or any other, that you'd get me on those things.

Then again I'm TERRIFIED of heights.

Here's a picture I took on my phone while waiting in line.

wow, the line never went past the covered area when we were there.

We waited 1 1/2 hours. I usually don't wait in line that long, since I have a season pass, but I HAD TO RIDE THAT BEAST (no homo).

do you think they have the side windows in the cars to keep your hands/arms in? Sure looked like you'd be able to hit some of the wood if it wasn't there

One thing you can take from the video is how smooth the ride is compared to it's old form. I last rode it ten years ago and can remember how painful and unpleasant it was.

I would like to ride it, but no way I wait an hour+ in 100 degree heat.
