So there we sit hiding from the rain watching TV westerns, there went Gunsmoke here comes Cheyenne. While watching Cheyenne I start thinking about how a guy that big had to have played some football, so after the show and a Wagon Train I check it out.

No sports for this guy, he actually dropped out of school at 17 for the merchant marines. He'd hold a few odd jobs one a bouncer and a doorman, where he was noticed (6-6 260 will do that) and the rest is history.

Here he is in his first scene and first movie, yep......Tarzan

He almost cracks up ya can see it, bet that took a few takes.

Funny you mention this, woke up early this morning and was flipping the channels and there was Cheyene, watched most of the episode. Also was in the Dirty Dozen. Clint was a real mans man.

Clint Walker was a great actor and a pretty good singer. He was actually a doorman at The Sands in Vegas as a kid. He was in movies with Robert Duval, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Telly Savalas, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, and Jim Brown to name a few. My favorite was the Dirty Dozen, but he was also good in Yuma, Gold Of The Seven Saints (with Roger Moore), and Night Of The Grizzly.

Cheyenne was part of a rotating triple western and one was Sugarfoot with Will Hutchins and the other was Bronco with Ty Hardin. It was a novel approach at the time.

Liked Clint Walker.
However Cheyenne was not the best western out and frankly always felt it was kind of lame.
