He was a favorite of mine, way back in the day.
I'm amazed Hulk Hogan is still alive...

He’s always seemed to have his crap together, unlike a lot of other guys from the same era, like Ric Flair, Macho Man, and Ultimate Warrior.

I always found it hilarious how Warrior would expend so much energy on his intro to the ring, they had to make his matches super short because he was exhausted by the time the opening bell rang.
Cocaine's a hell of a drug...

Very sad. Everything I've ever read or seen about Leon said he was a great guy, very caring individual.

RIP big fella.

The match between Leon & Stan Hansen, where Hansen accidently knocked Leon's eye out of its socket (and Leon putting it back in) was one of the oddest moments in pro-wrestling.

was the first pro 'rassler that actually scared me.
hated it when he beat Sting for the title.

One of the greatest big-men wrestlers ever. He could do things in the ring that nobody that size could. And he had such a stiff and physical style that he made you believe that it was a real fight.

RIP big man.

Sad news,I remember I first time saw him on a poster while in Okinowa, Japan. Vader vs Antonio Anoki . Vader had that metal mask that he would intro in. He looked just like some monster that needed to be fighting Godzilla. The Japanese loved him also, he was also very agile for a big man.
