I have always been a fan of both, but if I had to choose one over the other I would go with The Police.

On a side note.

I liked an interview they had with sting when he was talking about Every Breath you take.

He found humor in the idea everyone was taking it as a love song and some people using it in their weddings and so on when in truth the song was about stalking someone.

This one is tough. Sting is such a feminine hygene product that it makes him hard to like but Synchronicity was one of the top albums of the 80's. So I'll say the Police by a hair.

I think the Cars have my favorite song of the two but the Police have by far the best body of work.
