Great story...
speaking of which that story brought back a memory
we still used the punch card system when I joined the military many years ago but to be truthful I had forgotten about them my paycheck was a punch card than colored and fancy but still a punch card...heck minimum wage <---my salary... was $2.00 or $2.30 when I started to work...I would use all my Summer vacation(s) working at a steak house or lumberyard or a ranch or any place that would hire me...though I did do roofing one year and decided that definitely wasn't my cup of tea being out in the hot Texas sun all day carry shingles up a ladder to the roof for 12-14 hours a day... I started doing those summer jobs when I was 12 years old...<---I was cheap labor. Thinking back I know we had child labor laws but I guess it wasn't a big thing if I did a 40-60 or more hour work week in the summer so long as I went back to school in the fall.
