Zoners - I will lay this out for you. Had to get off of my phone and on to a laptop to write this epiphany to the fan base as we sit here and sink further and futher into what has become a never-ending journey of suffering from this family.

The Plan - Meeting Financial Commitments that the Family has targeted as KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to maintain, and continue to suprceed as the most valuable sports franchise that exists in the world today.

- Whether the Cowboys have negative, positive, or indifferent people viewing their content I want you to know something. IT PAYS THE SAME.
- If theres 100 girls going on KC tours and buying jerseys and getting all this positive fan engagement for being undefeated, the Cowboys can do the SAME by being a garbage, run of the mill yapped about franchise on all their networks about how dysfunctional they are
- Does not matter if the conversation is positive, indifferent, or negative - all will lead to the Dallas Cowboys getting engagement and getting PAID
- Jerry Jones may find me for this post and detailing this for you, pray for me my brothers

The Issue - This team has disregarded it's fanbase, coaches and players needs to be successful so badly this season, the negative media is holding zero weight.

- Dallas cannot even be spoken about right now, no one cares
- Even the homer fans cannot defend this years decisions by our GM and Owner, there is no hurt right now when other teams are trying to "punch" us or poke at us for being Cowboys fans
- We know and understand how bad it is, we are almost at the point of considering ourselves the Cleveland Browns and think the Detroit Lions franchise who has been pitiful for almost 50 years is in a better spot than us

Do you know how down bad Jerry is right now? He traded the one thing this team finds valuable - DRAFT CAPITAL - not before his QB needed it with must win games from ATL and SF - but after when the season is desperately on the line to sell - tickets - :starspin:

This shows you that the Jones are being hit hard right now. Negativity isn't feeding the machine anymore. Everyone just thinks their stupid and does not want to tune into the garbage product being put on the field. Dak Prescott sells ads - Blockchain, Sleep Comfort - whatever you think it is he sells it. He does it well too - it's probably one of his best attributes, not getting into trouble off the field and being a media guy. Jerry makes a ton of money off of this. Who do you think made more in the last 9 years - Dak Prescott at 400M or Jerry Jones with (3) 12 win seasons and playoff appearances - selling hope. Only issue is he banked on that being available for the next 3-4 years, Dak has regressed so badly that buyers remorse has come faster than ever.

To sum it up, their ship is sinking. Negativity isn't selling. Viewership likely down and games to get flexed out of primetime. That brought us Mingo - an insight to how bad it is inside the "war room" right now with Fat Mike, Jerry and Will staring at eachother not thinking how to win a SB but how to sell tickets.

The best analogy I heard today was on sports talk radio. We are not a serious football organization. We are reality tv. Everyone tunes in for the drama but nobody takes us seriously.
The Cowboys are only talked about because they are dysfunctional.

If they operated like a serious franchise they wouldn't be interesting.

The biggest mistake fans make is they associate fan happiness with Cowboys revenue.

Sure, the Cowboys doing well results in more jersey and other team merchandise sales, but the bulk of their revenue comes from the NFL deal with TV networks, stadium sales and existing as well as future advertising/sponsorship deals.

The stadium is a destination stadium so if Cowboys fans won't fill the seats, fans of other teams will. While the Jones family would prefer Cowboys fans in the seats, they are happy as long as there are no mass empty sections that show on TV.

Many of the advertising/sponsorship deals are for multiple years so they won't be an issue until they run out. As for the deals that are expiring, those advertisers know that the Cowboys will rebound at some point and if they don't sign a new contract now, they'll be replaced by someone that will long before that rebound happens.

The only real threat for the Cowboys revenue stream is long term negative production which leads to eventually losing popularity and relevance, but that is not something that will happen in one or two years.

To the Jones family, they assume they can fix every failed season in the off-season so they will never panic or worry about a lost season having longterm impacts.

Now, if the Cowboys have a losing record in 2024, then another in 2025 and yet another in 2026, then I suspect the Jones family will start worrying.

Until then, the only thing driving the Cowboys to do anything is Jerry's ego, but his willingness to act on his ego with anything other than a microphone has decreased considerably in recent years.

Well written.

We used to be a serious franchise and we had no shortage of national interest. The clown show is the only option available to Jerry though bc it is all he is capable of giving us.
I am born in 1993 there is a whole generation of fans who have not seen this. I’ll have kids soon and that will pull it into 2 generations of perpetual losing.

So the clown show is all you have ever known. I am older and so is most of the fan base. We remember the Landry years when the team was the most revered in the league. We remember Jimmy Johnson’s arrival and the miraculous return to glory. . I’m not even sure how anyone with no memory of those years can even root for this team and the mess Jerry had made.

This team winning 12 games and making the playoffs in the previous 3 seasons was in spite of the Owner/GM and EVP.

Another reason that despite his warts i like Big Mike. I know he won't speak on it, but I want his unfiltered take on the 2024 season. From start of the League year in March to the final whistle in December/January. Write a book. Do a podcast. Some medium that will allow him to speak his truth.

Again, I know it won't happen. But, man it would make good TV/Reading/listening.

I guarantee you that if Jerry fires him , he’s going to get some hush money to sign a non disclosure agreement. Amazing how none of the coaches who have left this organization level ANY criticism toward Jerry. What a coincidence.

Super accurate. Super Bowl Champs of internet clicks, mech sales, drama ratings parlayed into the most expensive sports franchise in the world. The goal now for Jethro is to maintain it. What a joke.

I have said they are the NFLs entertainment team. Love or hate, good for ratings, but never will contend

This is no means defending the Jones regime going on 3 decades but within the last decade of Landry's career in the 80s with the Cowboys the game losses were significantly mounting and the team itself was in a financial death spiral.

You actually make great points.
Jerry thinks adding one receiver will save him.

But, what may help him in the short term is that Dak is no longer the starter, and Cowboys fans will get to see either Cooper Rush or Trey Lance.
And if Rush plays well, it will not bode well for Prescott.

I don't think it is all that complicated. Sure Jerry loves the media attention and will never give up his role because it might take the microphones out of his face.

Occam's razor applies in this case. The right answer is usually the one with the fewest assumptions. There is no devious plot or plan for all these head-scratching moves. It is just incompetence. Jerry is not a real GM. He is an incompetent GM, with a big ego. As he gets older his incompetence increases, like with many old folks whose brains do not function like they did when they were younger. Jerry's incompetence increases as his brain function decreases.

There is no doubt this latest trade was driven by Jerry's ego. He doesn't like being responsible for the calamity which is the 2024 Dallas Cowboys. But he knows he is responsible. He has heard about the off-season constantly. So now he has to do something to make it look like he is going to fix it. So he calls other GMs to see if he can find a trade that will help him regain some respect. But his increased incompetence resulted in a ridiculous trade of a 4th round draft pick in 2025 for a player who is clearly a bust. But he was a 2nd round pick! The 39th pick overall! He must be a good player. He just needs to be a Dallas Cowboy to let all that potential out! Unless you are old and dealing with a malfunctioning brain, you will not be able to decipher Jerry's dealings. We see his incompetence, but Jerry doesn't. And never will, especially now that his brain is short-circuiting.

He is going down the path of Al Davis and we are watching it happen in real time.
