guys if you think about it jerry has been roaring about how he wants this defense to be great after all the money he has spent (and draft picks).

He also has been talking about getting roy.w involved more on defense and who better than stoops can lead this D featuring roy.w?

I think that he is an excellent coach and would do pretty well here being as though we do have the talent to go to the playoffs we just need a firery leader that can keep these guys motivated and prepared and i think stoops can get that done.

I think that hiring a veteran offensive coach would help him also, but keeping tony sporano wouldn't be bad either (we did have a top 5 offense and mr conservative is gone).

Overall i think he can excell here with a good young qb, 2 great wr's and a host of decent young wr's, we need work on the o-line, and a scheme change on defense, and he's good to go.

I dont think peyton's saints are nearly all around talented as we are, and i see no reason why stoops cant acheive the same type of sucess that peyton had with the saints.

Im not saying that i oppose any other coaches, because im just happy that bill left.

But stoops makes alot of sense to me, he's a good coach, i think that jerry can low ball him an offer thats reasonable but not the huge money he'd have to pay an experienced NFL assistant.

And jerry probably feels he can control stoops to a degree, something he may have been missing since he hired parcells.

P.S ....i know that jerry with control thing is a verry scary thought lol.

the only way he's headed to dallas is if big red imports can't deliver his new sports car.

Sounds like Mike Singletary or Phillips is on the way if you want defense.

Stoops brother Mike ran the defense, and Oklahoma hasn't been as good since he left for Arizona.

This would be a major downgrade in coaching.

Hell no to Stoops.

What makes you think Stoops wants to coach the Cowboys? Stoops is an Ohio guy and he turned down the Browns. He also turned down Ohio State and Florida. I can't see him leaving to work with a meddling owner and that lifestyle. He saw Saban and Spurrier fail are two more reasons.

We'll see. The timing of this retirement was a little late. It would have been nice to hear it early last week. We might have lost opportunities for some very good coaches with the delayed announcement.

Bob Stoops is about to sign an endorsement deal with Bob's Steak and Chop House and is coming to the metroplex to finish the deal.

He is headed to Dallas the next time he plays the Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl. Beyond that, he can stay away! :p:

I imagine he would say hell no to you and Jerry as well.

Doubt he would turn down the biggest coaching gig in football unless he didnt want anything to do with the pro game.

Yeah, and Bob Stoops was DC at Florida and won the national championship. Mike Stoops was co-DC at OU with Brent Venables. Give B. Stoops the credit he deserves. C'mon.

Bob Stoops + His brother running our D would be nice ....I could see him giving up alot to draft Adrian Peterson too..wouldn't that be funny... Don't take this too serious, thats too many ifs :p

Yeah they have been horrible the last couple of years. I think they were top of the Big 12 this year and at least top 15 of the NCAA in total D. But of course, Brent Venables coaches the D at OU, not Bob Stoops.....

As much of a great coach as Bob is at OU, I really think he is better suited in Norman than in Dallas. Honestly, how many great college coaches have excelled at the Pro game?
