Many of us are hoping the Cowboys do not take a receiver within their first 2 selections. Good news is, many teams are receiving hunting and both the Chiefs/Packers traded away the 2 best in the league. Teams like the Lions, Jets, Eagles, Falcons, Washington, Texans all are in dire need at the position. This could bring trade action, but very likely the top receivers are all off the board.

Dane mentioned the top 9 receivers (bold 1st rd prospects)-Wilson, Olave, London, Burks, Williams, Dotson, Pickens, Moore, Watson (maybe 1 gets selected late rd 1).

The 3rd tier guys, who do you like for the Cowboys?

Tolbert, Metchie, Austin III, Bell, Shakir, Pierce, Doubs, Robinson (This are all in that late 3rd, early 4th rd range)

I would be happy with Tolbert, Metchie (assuming the knee checks out), Shakir or Pierce in the 3rd. My worry is they might all be gone by 88.

First here are my top 10 so I would definitely take Tolbert. After him I like Metchie and Shakir. They should also use one of the fifths on another, Danny Gray, Makai Polk, or Kevin Austin.

1 WIlson
2 Burks
3 Williams
4 Olave
5 London
6 Dotson
7 Tolbert
8 Pickens
9 Watkins
10 Moore

Metchie. I remember a few years ago media was saying he was probably Alabama’s best receiver. Two first round picks and Hiesman trophy winner was on that team.

Side not. If teams that should take offensive tackles with their first picks start hunting receivers early instead, a tackle like Cross could actually fall into the late teens. Something the Cowboys need to consider.

I like all of the tier 3 guys mentioned.

Don’t think they wait to day 3 to address

He fits well, but they already have Gallup coming off that injury who may not be ready

I think teams with high picks will take lineman early and get aggressive with their next picks.

Seems you're right......their thinking is to draft one high. Notice Gallup and Lamb contracts below......perhaps a bit of proactive thinking. Other words, they can get out of Gallups deal after next season and Lamb's 5th-year option will be due

I agree, it’s going to be OL or Receiver in rd 1 and probably the other in the next two rds

I'd lean towards Tolbert. He's basically Gallup as a prospect...good at everything but not really great anywhere.

I am going to look up the teams that draft before the Cowboys that want offensive tackles and receivers. It is going to be tough to figure out because a team like the Eagles, might still grab the tackle and have two other picks to get the receiver. What I am hoping is the Jets, Washington, Baltimore, Houston, Chargers, Packers pass on tackles then a guy like Cross can fall in let’s trade a 3rd and a 5th range. Yes I am getting my hopes up for Tyron Jr.:eek::eek::eek: Rumors are Penning is ahead of Cross now.

The top tackles and the edges aren't likely to fall anywhere near our range. We would have to trade up to land either. With all our needs, not happening! It's going to either be Green/Zion or if one of those top receivers fall. They might have a chance to move back, if GB doesn't take a WR at 22.

Agree, he is probably #1 on that 3rd tier list. Think there is an outside chance he is there at 88. Who would you take in the 2nd tier at 56?
