Tony's combined preseason numbers of last year and (so far) this year:

48 completions
70 attempts
69% Comp. Percent.
646 yards
13.48 YPC
3 TD
0 INT
1 Fumble
112 QB Rating

FWIW, for the theory that hes racked up easy stats by dinking and dunking, Peyton Manning's YPC last season was 12.23

That makes it official-- he sucks...

Sure wish we had us a Jason Campbell to be our quarterback of the future... now THERE'S an impressive, poised, polished field general when he hits the field...

:D

He's done as much as one can expect a developing No. 2 quarterback to do in the preseason.

Right now, he reminds me very much of Matt Hasselback's preseason efforts while backing up Favre -- not necessarily in terms of style, but production. He's quietly doing all he can do in the preseason but will never get over that "but it's just the preseason" hump unless/until he plays in the regular season.

His next hurdle is essentially to start a game in place of a dinged-up Bledsoe. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but that's the only way we'll get to gauge him at a higher level.

And if he performs well there (like Delhomme did in New Orleans a few years back, his next hurdle will be to start an entire season and see what happens.

So far, his development seems promising, all things considered.

Preseason or not, Tony Romo has shown signs of being a very good player. You don't have to qualify it. He looks good.
