The run blocking has been awful for about 5 games

I think that’s the reason for our struggles. Guys blame zeke but he gets hit most times before he gets to the line of scrimmage. All of the elite backs go untouched until they’re 2 yards past the line e of scrimmage. Even pollard didn’t hsve running lanes. What makes it crazy is Tyron plays next to zack Martin and we still can’t run.how? Even at 85% of his prime, Tyron’s a pro bowl caliber tackle who’s powerful athletic and technically sound. I’ve seen lines block better who only had one pro bowler.

Tyron may not have the physicality anymore...especially compared to the younger/hungrier Terence Steele. The decline in the running game started after Steele's injury. I would not expect the running game to do much the rest of the way, especially against Tampa with Vita Vea and Akiem Hicks in the middle.

Dak is going to have to throw it 40+ times and win it by himself...whether we like it or not o_O

I agree 100%. For some crazy reason, we cannot run block. We get zero movement on the opponents DLine. Too many past pro bowlers are getting a free pass. They're not getting it done. Martin, Tyron and even Peters have looked like shi* the last few weeks. They're getting whipped by no names on other teams. We might want to consider a new strength coach.

He didn’t lose strength abd he’s still more athletic than Steele.

Tyron Smith is an all time great Cowboy but he is starting to look washed.

If you saw what my eyes saw......blantily terrible.......and all the reason for Air Coryell Jr to abandon for a pass happy offense.

The run-game stretch plays are just too predictable. Very few traps and counters. And they run out of the same formations, game in and game out. So defenses basically just load up to stop the run when they see those formations. And 90% of the time, they're right. So it's easy to control the Cowboy's run game when you know it's coming simply by formation and player stance.

And on top of that, when Dallas does run play action out of those base formations, it's often a 5-yard TE route or a TE seam route. Not enough deep patterns for WRs after play action. So that doesn't present a lot of fear in the defense.

Moore's playbook isn't all that creative, so it's easy to guess the plays and the routes. And if I can as a fan, you KNOW the opposing defense who has watched film all week can guess what's coming 90% of the time.

You can see our run game scheme from the armchair.. I hate to imagine how easy it is for a defence to scheme against it. It has been the sheer talent of our squad to overcome the poor OC play and playcalling.

Open drive sequence.. Zeke up the guts, Zeke up the guts, Dak trying to hit a WR on a go route, Punt. Rinse and Repeat 17 times.

The run scheme is absolutely awful. It’s basically predicated on running as a surprise instead of passing. Our offensive line is not geared to be road graders. Which is weird because that seemed to be Tyler Smith’s strength. Sick of the delayed handoffs. We need an offensive line coach that will coordinate the run game as well. Much like Bill Callahan did in his time with the Cowboys. I still think Kellen Moore is a horrible situational play caller. This offense is going no where in the playoffs.

That's what happens when you have two fossils starting.

I've been saying this for weeks, Zeke, which is why this team routinely starts slow. I just don't understand the praise for Moore, unless you're simply enthralled with stats. The Dallas offense looks good on paper when you read stats. But within the flow of the game, it just doesn't look consistently productive throughout many games.

And even on defense, it's pretty much the same. Little deception, especially in the 1st half. So then it's easy to pick the defense apart. I'm afraid Brady will just pick the Dee apart with quick passes.

My fear is what we all kind of know: Brady > Quinn, and Bowles > Moore ...thus, the special teams may have to save this game with a return for a TD or a blocked punt or something. Played straight up, on the road, it's hard to have faith in this coaching staff.

First, though some people do not ant to admit it, Tyron Smith is a downgrade from Terence Steele, at least in the run game. I think people are underestimating how good Steele is as a run blocker. He blocks with power and leverage. He is quick enough to get his man into a bad position then he just bulldozes him out of the hole. If you watch Tyron, he does not have the quickness to get into a leverage position when he run blocks. This has been true for a couple of years.

The run game went away when Steele got hurt.

I think it will get a little better when Biadasz comes back, hopefully this week. He is a better C than McGovern and honestly, I think Tyler Smith is a better LT than LG.

Play action is about making someone bite so you can hit them over the top.

Hitting a 5 yard pass to a TE doesn't backoff safeties, it invites them down into the box.
