The team's picking ahead of us, what are their biggest needs?

Borrowing the draft list that Hostile put together on the front page

1. Panthers, 2-14
2. Broncos, 4-12, .516
3. Bills, 4-12, 579
4. Bengals, 4-12, .582
5. Cardinals, 5-11, .465
6. Browns, 5-11, .570
7. 49ers, 6-10, .486
8. Titans, 6-10, .500
9. Cowboys, 6-10, .512

Looking at that list, four jump out that really need a QB more than just about anything; Arizona, Carolina, and San Francisco. I'm not sure Buffalo wouldn't go after a QB for that matter in the first round if it fell to them.

That said, what position do you feel each team in front of us most needs to fill in the first round? Basically, who do you feel will be available to us at #9 based on obvious needs of the teams in front of us?

great thread. Here is what I do know...the best OL in the draft will be available for us...not whether or not that OL is top 10 worthy is a different debate...but I know there are OL with first round talent...and this is the year to get him. We do not need a QB...we do not need WRs, RBs, TEs. We have given the defense most of the 1st round picks over the past decade. You control an ENTIRE game with your offensive line. All of the warts on a team can be covered with great OL play and above average QB play. Quick, name a WR for the Pats besides Welker. Who would not even start in Dallas. Name the RB in New England...whomever ever he is, he would not make the team in Dallas. They have solid OL play and great QB play.

I feel like that we have to hope a QB goes before us besides Luck cause at least right now, there is a dividing point at the 8 spot.

In no particular order, Luck, Peterson, Fairley, Green, Quinn, Prince, Dareus, and Bowers. I believe there is a dropoff after those 8 guys, and we would have to take whichever one falls. Of course someone might make a wild pick, but the easiest thing to see is either Cam or Mallet going before our pick and one of those 8 guys falling to us.

If one of those doesn't fall, I would rather trade down. This is where us falling in the draft.....even only slightly.....does matter.

I still see the boys getting the 6th pick. I think the browns will move down after they lose out on Green to the bengals.

I could easily see all top 7 teams looking at QB's with their first pick.

None have great QB's.
Maybe the jury is out on the Broncos....

Yeah we have to hope all this will happen. And of course its still early, some players will fly up and down the draft after the combines and such of course.

Where the QBs go, and of course Green being gone are probably the most important things in the draft that could be in our favor if we stay in our spot, cause that would cause someone to fall. If there is any intentions on trading down though, the QBs sticking around may help us get a good deal.
