Tom Landry and Tex Schramm imo

who would you say?

Matt Nichols and Terrell Hudgins tbh. That man is Shakespeare, because all he does is make plays.

I'll go with Landry and Schramm like you. Landry coached this team for 29 years. Schramm helped build the Cowboys into the media powerhouse they are now. The contributions of these two are more than any player could have ever contributed.

i've been watching the cowboys since 1975.

the 2 best i've ever seen play

randy white

michael irvin

my dad told me bob lilly was a bad sob.

they are way too many great cowboys out there.

lol how could I have left out the phenom....sorry bout that

I think Larry Allen is the most dominating player we ever had. Flip a coin between Roger Staubach and Bob Lilly, or throw Emmitt Smith in there.

Actually for the sake of the topic, Mr. Cowboy and Captain America pretty much says it all. Lilly and Staubach.

you picked four, that is cheating!! :)

it's very difficult to pick two for this great franchise

Larry Allen was when he wanted to be. Staubach and Lilly is right on the money. Talk about Landry and Schram, and I'll concede they were important, but without Lilly and Staubach its just another franchise. The game is played between the sidelines.

Emmitt Smith and Bob Lilly.

Emmitt is arguably the greatest RB of all-time, and Lilly is arguably the greatest DT of all-time.

Roger Staubach was fantastic, but he isn't arguably the greatest QB of all-time. Tom Landry and Tex Schramm are too cheap and easy to pick. Larry Allen is a good argument because he really was dominating, and he's arguably the greatest LG of all-time. But he didn't bring the leadership that the other guys mentioned did, and as a LG you can only impact the final result of the game so much.

In the end, I go with Emmitt and Lilly. Emmitt is the most successful Cowboy of all-time. When you look at stats and winning, no other Cowboy even comes close. And Lilly set the precedent of greatness from the very beginning.

My list would look like this:

1. Emmitt Smith
2. Bob Lilly
3. Roger Staubach
4. Randy White
5. Larry Allen
6. Tony Dorsett
7. Michael Irvin
8. Troy Aikman
9. Mel Renfro (why does everyone always forget about him??)
10. Bob Hayes
