Theory: Since we have no news maybe this is what's happening

Yesterday Jerry told Jason and staff that they were going to be gone. But Jerry had a strategy to save face for Jason. Since one of the staff leaked out the plans Jerry decided to slow roll things to keep Jason from being dragged into the media as a fired/failed coach.

I could see Jerry going back out to staff and offering them a package to keep their mouths shut and allow the face saving plan that he has laid out for Jason.
