There are Penalties and really Dumb penalties!

Dante Fowler leads the league in REALLY dumb penalties. He committed another one yesterday.
McCarthy needs to tell the whole team, depending on who you are, you will either be cut, lose playing time, or be fined.

We have way to many REALLY dumb penalties: Illegal procedure, defensive offsides on third and less than 5 yds( see Fowler), obvious blocking in the back and holding on punt returns.

We also get a lot of crappy calls against us!

Defense holding on a damn run. I was like wth man. But yea Fowler lol. That’s twice now. But dude has been a huge contributor this year as well

When the official made the call, I said, "What? How do you call holding on the defense on a run play???"...Then they showed the play. Holy crap, that was ridiculous. Holding an OL by the collar as he's trying to run away from you. How do you expect to get away with that?

I think that penalty was on Watkins not Fowler. But yeah dumb penalty, almost Randy Gregorish.

The one penalty that infuriates me is offensive holding on a run play. No reason to hold on run plays. Just put a hat on a guy and let things play out.

Yea talking about fowler jumping offsides. Watkins was the one who held on the run play. Just no reason for that.

Some of those penalties they called were just ticky tack dumb. Like that holding penalty on Schultz. When they showed the replay it showed the defensive man tripped and Schultz pushed him down. It was not holding.

There were other calls too that was dumb which favored us. I just wish that the refs would just stop calling these ticky tack fouls that don't favor either teams.

We shoot ourselves in the foot way too many times.
It's really inexcusable

#91 (Watkins?) got that defensive hold yesterday AND had one the week before too! Just....unreal because you don't see that at all with other teams defensive linemen.

mine is block in the back. it just seems wholly unavoidable and not only is it a penalty but constantly cuts the legs out of big plays

I see a lot of posts suggesting players being fined for penalties...curious, is that even possible? I can't imagine the players agreeing to fines for performance in the collective bargaining agreement.

Defensive line holding isn’t really that unheard of, two weeks in a row Watkins has been called on it. Surprised it hasn’t been one of the league focus penalties in the off-season, because it could be called quite a bit more often it refs focused of it more!

Sure you do, I’ve seen it called at least a dozen times this season, which is about normal and I don’t much more than half a ___ watch other teams!

Well, as with a lot of penalties, the positive result of the play was because of the hold. Watkins’ hold kept the o-lineman from sliding and sealing so Barkley was stopped. It’s like Smith’s tackle hold. I don’t know what the protection plan on that play was, but Smith had to block 2 guys. Dak gets blown up if Smith doesn’t tackle the guy.
