Dolphins may have finally found a keeper as coach.

“He’s a great mind, and he’s a great dude,” cornerback Nate Brooks said. “He has this program going in a great direction.”

One measure of progress under Flores, a longtime Patriots assistant: In Week 2, they lost at home to New England, 43-0. In Week 17, they won at Foxborough for the first time since 2008.

“The first time, it was a joke,” defensive tackle Christian Wilkins said. “They just manhandled us and destroyed us. We’ve come a long way, clearly.”

they won five of their final nine games, and capped the turnaround Sunday when they ended a streak of 10 consecutive losses at New England with a 27-24 upset that cost the Patriots a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Now, armed with three first-round draft picks and $100 million in salary cap space, the Dolphins appear poised to make a leap forward — and perhaps even win a playoff game for the first time in 20 years.

Fitzpatrick, 37, has said he’s undecided about whether to return for a 16th NFL season.

“I will start the ‘One more year’ chant right now if you want,” TE Gesicki said. “I love playing with him.”

Yep, and everyone was all over them for trading away their "best players" and accused them of tanking. Look who got the last laugh. Now Flores just has to find a QB and they are set up pretty good.

they have been looking for one of them since Marino

Exactly. Flores comes from NE and knows they need a QB before anything else. So, he traded away his most tradeable assets and wracked up 3 first round picks in this draft. What he did is similar to what Jimmy Johnson did with Hershel Walker. Thats how you build a team.

Im thinking they go with Tua and bring Fitz for one more year. If not there is another Fitz out there somewhere, but I think Tua is their guy long term.

Thats what i would do if I was running the Dolphins. Let Tua learn for a year like Mahomes did in KC. He'll be healthy and ready to start by the 2021 season.

I wouldn't use a first rounder on Tua when I already have one in Rosen. There is no guarantee Tua is going to be any different than the QBs picked since 2016 not named Watson or Mahomes. I'd give Rosen one year to see what he can do on a team that gives him a fighting chance.

They could however use their picks to move up for Burrow. But that would be putting all their eggs in one basket. Risky.

its good he is from NE, im from CA and i could never have figured out the dolphins most important task is to find a qb.JImmy built a team... that in today's world would be torn apart as soon as he built it. Those pre cap days are over.
