Think we found our free safety and if you didn't know, he's a high-character guy with excellent leadership

thought he and Kearse were too bargain bin FAs..how did this happen LOL all 3 S are the best group weve had in decade. this off season same thing, fans just want big names at high dollars to be happy and dont let it play out on the field before dooming it.

Do not feel he should grade that high, but what do I know? It doesn't seem like he's made too many mistakes, while at least making a few plays. The good news is we've got him on a cheap deal for another year. The only safety we have to figure out if we want to retain is Donovan Wilson. I'd like to, but I don't know what his market is going to be.

Remember he was once a top 3 safety in the league

We're going to lose Dan Quinn after this year esp. if this keeps up.

And that's fine. I just don't feel like I've seen top four safety play. Now, that doesn't mean anything because part of being a top safety is doing your job and not standing out for not doing it. I can't say he hasn't done his job, only that I haven't seen a lot of impact plays from him.

Lock him up now.

Lock him up now.

I'm OK with waiting. We've got him for another year and he's got a long list of injury issues. If he can start and stay healthy for a couple of years, then he might be worth re-signing. Of course, we've got a couple of interesting young guys behind him, too.

No surprise, if you watch him play. I'd imagine the all 22 is a good watch. Hooker makes tackles in the run game, solid tackles too, he's not out there missing tackles. He let the deep ball go very his head this game, but came back and made up for it. Finally a true FS on this squad.

Where was he on the big Rams pass play that Diggs almost broke up or the big Kupp play?

No

Wilson is in the 4th year of his rookie contract. He's a UFA after this year.

I can't believe we finally have consistency at safety. The position has been undervalued by the organization far too long.

I wasn't talking about Wilson, although I'd prefer to keep him. Mukuamu and Bell are the interesting young safeties. I say interesting because I don't know how they will turn out at this point, but both showed promise in the preseason, and both have played some in the regular season so far.

Having a really solid year indeed. He's a big part of the reason I don't think the team will make a huge effort to re-sign Donovan Wilson this off-season, both him and Kearse are under contract next year plus we have Bell/Mukuamu/Coyle as young depth (and know how much this team loves compensatory draft picks).

Sort of a bummer since Dono has been so fun to watch this year, but nice to see a DEEP room of safeties. Feels like we have more talent there now than we have in the last decade combined. Also prepares us for injury as we get into the latter part of the season, and allows for not a ton of drop-off in our back half if injuries do hit.
