Thinking of Niners' QB plight last postseason, but applying that to special teams

I pulled up CZ several minutes ago, with this terrible feeling I was going to discover that someone totally unexpected was out for today's game. When I didn't see that, of course, I had a sigh of relief.

But then my mind went to Cooper's illness, and how the NFL made modifications to the rules last off-season as a direct result of the Niners' plight... culminating in this question...

Doesn't the same logic for allowing teams to have emergency 3rd QBs apply equally to allow teams to have an emergency kicker?

The answer is "yes, absolutely."

Stephen, make a note.

Not gonna happen. There aren’t enough kickers in the bel and the emergency kicker would take a roster spot
