This is why just looking at turnovers is a mistake..

When you are giving up 400-600 yards a game it is going to catch up you. It means opposing teams are controlling the clock -- it means they can move the ball at will.

Yes, the turnovers are great and there isn't a team in the league that doesn't want them, however, turn-overs are much harder to get against good teams, especially good QBs.

Has anyone done an analysis of how Cowboys defensive turnovers have come against winning teams as opposing to losing teams?

Profootballreference might help.

Search for all QB against Dallas and then go from there.

The thing is, there's no way this team could win in the playoffs for long, even if we make it. You're counting on multiple good teams to hand the ball over to you. Not going to work.

Turnovers don't matter with this team since we rarely convert them to touchdowns. They are just fieldgoals or punt extenders most of the time.

I said this after the first game (Giants) of the year and have been saying it since. This is one of the most pathetic defenses I have ever seen and I'm being totally serious.

And the offense is how much better?

We force the Giants into six turnovers (scoring off one) and we still need to recover the onside kick to seal the win.

We force the Lions into four turnovers and loose.

This defense may go on to break all the records. They can't stop the pass. They can't stop the run. If they aren't forcing turnovers the other team is going up and down the field at will.

Jerry had no reason to fire Ryan. The defense was decimated by injuries last year. They still never put up an embarrassing performance close to what we have already seen 3 or 4 times this year. Ryan was made the scapegoat by Jerry.

That defense last year was pretty good until the injuries started piling up. This year, we have never been able to stop anyone.

I think you'll find the injuries on defense started about 1 hour into training camp this year.

Let's not act like Ryan's defense either year he was here was great.

Maybe you can point out exactly where I said the offense was better. ?

And where in my reply did I say you did?

It’s a team game and this offense, which compared to the defense is relatively healthy isn’t holding up its end of the bargain.

Don’t you think that’s a factor?

It was not great. But they did not come close to putting forth the pathetic performances this defense is putting out there now.

They had 40 first downs last night. 40. I don't care how many injuries you have on defense. That is embarrassing.

The Saints could have hung 70 points on us if they really wanted to.

Oh yeah, worst ever. The offense is pretty bad too. 6 turnovers in the first game of the season and we almost lost the game.
