This team beat or almost beat 3 of 4 Conference Championship teams

How are we going to fix this oline. The FA crop is really weak and if we draft linemen, it will probably take at least 2 years for them to perform to their potential.

Well for starters, the OL was ALOT better before Adams went down. Allen can still play.

Im banking on Adams, Allen, Rivera to play like we know they can.

If Rivera doesn't regain his form, maybe Peterman can step in. Pettiti should no doubt be better next year as well, but he may be replaced.

I don't have the perfect solution either. But I do know that we cna probably count on Adams and Allen for sure. Then the other 3, that's a whole nother story. We get Bentley, and Rivera returns to form, we may even be able to live with Pettiti.

Good points, helps ease the sting of not making it to the playoffs.

The problem is, the Good teams are probably going try to get a little better as well as really bad teams and middle of the road teams like us.

If we were working in a vaccum, the original post would help me sleep at night, but everyone other team will be trying their hardest to improve too.

I don't think Rivera will regain his old form, and I think Allen will be gone. If Dallas can sign Barry away from Green Bay, then I could see a quick fix. We could trade down and pick up and extra 2nd pick. With a low number one Dallas could take Max Jean Guillles in the first and Deuce Lutui in the 2nd with the highest second we have. We would start two rookie guards, but they are both the best in the draft class. It is much easier to play as a rookie at the guard position than it is at tacke. The question is would fans be happy drafting two guards with our top two picks? If we could get Bentley that would be great as well.

We have fallen along ways when we accept a loss as a sign of great things to come.

I accepted going from 6-10 to 9-7, hell, even further, from going from a punching bag to being ultra-competitive

So what you are saying is that we missed the playoffs because of Flo's injury? Injuries are part of the game, you don't see NE using injries as an excuse. They were forced to start two rookies on the left side of the line, and lost their secondary for much of the season. The difference, IMO, is coaching. NE just seems to bring in players, coach them, put them out there and they play and make plays.

the difference is depth, something a team being rebuilt doesn't usually have

comparing the Pat's injuries to ours is somewhat unfair, after all, they were Super Bowl champions 2 of the last 3 years, and a team with great team depth
