It's unlikely to occur so quickly, and perhaps it's for the best that it doesn't.

However, it's approaching. McCarthy has not demonstrated the capacity to manage adversity throughout his time in Dallas.

One thing I hadn't anticipated was Zimmer's horrible showing today. He seemed like the obvious choice for Interim Coach, but with repeated performances like today's, it's questionable to put him in that role.

I believe they will go with Al Harris if (when?) they make the decision, with Zimmer staying on as Defensive Coordinator.

No coach in DAL since Jimmy Johnson - other than Bill Parcells - has had even a prayer of establishing any credibility, or wresting real, functional authority over day-to-day on-field operations from the shallow, tin-plated, megalomaniacal despot that is Jerry Jones. You can bring in an entirely new coaching staff, and it won't make any difference whatsoever.
