Offense

-Thought they did have a nice opening drive, which they really have struggled with slow starts in the past.
-OL was excellent in pass protection as Dak had a real nice clean pocket throughout the night, Tyron looked real good on the move.
-Run game was solid, but wasn't dominate by any means.
-Credit Cooks for getting a huge PI penalty with a veteran move.
-Dak did an excellent job of protecting the football, outside 1 pass thought nothing was in harm's way. His accuracy wasn't great, but the conditions were very bad.
-Really liked the use of Turpin, was screaming for Moore to use him all last year.
-Both TE's really struggled with dropped passes, Hendershot dropped a TD and Ferguson dropped a key third down deep in their zone.
-Hard game to evaluate MM as a playcaller as the game was out of hand in the 1st quarter.

Defense

-Outside of that poor opening drive, they played elite defense in every area.
-Run defense was night and day better after that opening drive. DLaw played the read option far better this time.
-Pass rush was downright scary, but it pretty much all came against Evan Neil and the Guards who struggled badly against our front.
-Don't discount the coverage in the secondary to all these pressures and sacks.
-Our secondary was just as awesome as the pass rush creating multiple turnovers. Give Diggs his props with that hit against Barkley, hell of a hit that cause an interception
-Thought Thomas/Bell/Clark all flashed.

Special Teams

-Thomas with that FG block that led to the 1st TD was an absolute back breaker for the Giants.
-Our kicker missed the 1st extra point, but was excellent afterwards. The Giant money kicker struggled, which tells us how bad the conditions were, good sign for Audrey.

Once again in a meaningful game Dakota "WENTZ 2.0" Prescot didn't look good at all. Yes, he made a couple of nice throws, but his overall performance was shaky at best. As for the rest of the team, they looked locked and loaded all night long!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both teams had to contend with bad weather, but ordinarily you'd think the edge would go to the home team, an outside non-dome stadium team. Not so much last night.

I was a little concerned during the first Giants O series. The D touchdown and the adjustments made by the Cowboys seemed to break the Giants back. Great game!

I agree with everything. It was very hard to evaluate the offense because the two early scores on ST and defense kept the offense off the field. And the dropped passes by the TEs were very frustrating. Turpin missed one too. Clean that up and the offense would have been pretty efficient.

One other point, it doesn't look like it on TV but there were times when it was pouring rain. That has an effect on the game even if it doesn't look like it. We had some downpours last night that I swear could have knocked a football out of the air on longer passes.

I don't expect that kind of performance by Dallas every week, but it was very impressive to watch.

does the rest of the team being locked and loaded all night long include the 3+ drops by the TE's, 2 of them TDs?

OFFENSE

It wasn’t a hard evaluate for MM to me, he knew when and where to run the ball instead of airing it out, and he also managed the game in according to the brutal rain & playing conditions.

- Pollard and Rico had a .4 avg.
And Pollard added 2 rushing TDs and a couple of big splash runs, in a monsoon rain storm, even tiny Turpin added a rushing TD,...lol

- Where was this vaunted NYG defensive front ?
Only on a few occasions did Giants Dexter Lawrence disrupt the center & LG.
Otherwise backup Chuma faired well in his debut.
(Jets DT Quinton Williams is another whole new matter next week !!)
* Dak had about three face pressures for bad throws, but otherwise the OL protection was solid. Both OTs were impeccable. I was concerned about Thixdeau vs our OTs, but he didn’t factor much. As game progressed, our OL actually work NYG front down, more run lanes, and they could not get to Dak, our offense began to open up and do a number on NYG defense. When tiny might mouse Turpin can run up the gut on your D for a rushing TD !! ..lol

- Big difference with Turpin usage in MM offense vs Kellen Moore:

- TEs do need to clean up the drops, a couple but those were big plays off the table.
Kudos to the edge blocking though as they provided lanes that sprung Pollard and even Turpin.

- Considering monsoon conditions, I’m not gauging slow starts until NYG playing conditions until it’s back to normal conditions.

- Dak was obviously showing non-preseason rust, and who knows how much the monsoon conditions were in affect too.
I expect him to be much sharper the more he plays back into playing form.

- Lamb, Cook had solid games, in keeping chains moving, great rub route pick to bring Lamb on his 49 yd. catch
and Cooks with critical over middle catch and a PI drawn flag.

DEFENSE
NYG simply did not have the WRs to present a challenge to our secondary.
They are among the worst in NFL, imo.

- Our CBs Diggs and Gilmore were big time keys with INTs (Gilmore) and 2 forced fumbles (Diggs) and
a returned TD by Bland. Even new CB Noah Eggy got a FG block ret for TD.
If only Hooker hadn’t dropped an sure INT. Was Donovan Wilson (out) missed ?

- If there is a better secondary in the NFL than the Cowboys.. please advise !
These guys are sheer, sure fire ball hawks turnover machines !!

- Rover hybrid Markis Bell was great in his role, and led team in tackles. Great nose for the ball and great in pursuit,
Clark & LVE had solid games vs Barkley who again held in check well.

- Danny Dimes was harrassed and rattled ALL NIGHT long !!, he had to step up, dance hop around, run for his life
and could not even focus on finding targets, as well could not run wild upfield as usual and often.

- Flat out Giants OL simply could not block our rushers, edge or interior. Two 1st round OTs in Thomas & Neil,
and it still did not matter.
Osa was a beast inside and Hankins was immovable.

SPECIAL TEAMS

As I’ve mentioned many times over, our FG kicking issues aside, I think we have the best special teams coach in NFL
in Bones Fassell.
His unit seems to constantly come up with blocked punts and FG kicks. And ends up being major factors during games. Thomas with blocked FG, and Noah Iggy on return for a TD very early in game-
In such crazy rain I want Turpin to just be caution-careful with returns.
rookie FG kicker Audrey seemed to calm down and focus better after the first Xtra pt. miss.
Even with his chippy short FGs, he did not shank them like Giants kicker did

-Saw one play where Lawrence blew up Biaz, but nothing else. Williams will be another big test, but I think he and Lawrence are fairly similar. More 1 Tech's with rush abilities.
-I heard Tyron Smith yielded zero pressures. He looked real good, let's hope he continues to stay healthy.
-Moore never took advantage of Turpin's skill set, just find ways to get him the football, especially in space.
-Rub route to Lamb was another thing we have rarely seen this offense due in the past.

-Outside of Barkley/Waller the Giants do not scare you. Yes, they have speed, but their OL doesn't allow them to use it. It is going to be more ding and dunk with their QB running at times.
-Both Diggs/Gilmore will have tougher matchups, but they looked real good. Diggs with 2 excellent turnovers.
-Thought Bell played the best out of the linebacker group, he flashed many times. Believe he takes Kearse's job in 2024.
-The Giants OL simply is terrible outside of Thomas and their rookie Center who also struggled, but their right side got killed. Evan Neil was taken 20 or so picks higher then Tyler and you would think the opposite.
-Fassell sometimes get overaggressive, but he is one of the best in the business. Glad Audrey had a ton of chances in a bad weather game and responded well after the missed xtra point.

The Jets CB's at least ate pretty good.
Yeah, and Allen was the gift that just kept on giving. jets D is legit but Allen made it easier for them

Dude throwing into double and triple coverage off his back foot, SMH

That whole offense looked anemic at best. Allen certainly looked terrible.

Allen issue is probably lack of maturity
Must be frustrating for the HC to deal with

If he had been going up against the JETS defense 71% wouldn't have gotten the job done. With that said we'll find out just who Prescot is this year..................
