We really need to get back on track and establish one of them....I get sick every time I see Sam LaPorta looking like a seasoned vet. That dude is gonna be a star...I think that Schoonmaker was a wasted pick. So who is gonna step up? And when?

Listen…. Not every team is going to have a dominant player at every single position. Players like Kittle, Kelce, LaPorta are rare. We don’t have a dominant TE and we’re just gonna have to deal with it. No one is going to “step up” because they are what they are.

LaPorta was drafted before the Cowboys were on the clock at 58. Schoon will be fine. Damn he has played all of 2 games.

The TE's looked better in week 2. They will continue to get better in this new offense.

Cowboys fans are never happy. I am not happy that Sam Williams has no sacks, Dak only has two touchdown passes and Tyler has no pancake blocks.
Seriously, right?
Ferguson is currently ranked 8th out of 62 TE's in the NFL.
I know, I know, it PFF, but they still do a solid job of ranking players play overall.
Subtract those drops in game 1 and Ferguson has been really good.
I was a Schultz fan, and I think Fergs looks as good in the pass game and MUCH better at blocking than Schultz.
Herdershot looks horrible, but Schoon looks solid so far. I think we are solid at TE, and should only improve.

Even without a true or #1 TE this group should be good enough. So far they haven't done more than the TDs so maybe it is more a scheme thing than the individuals.

Drafting Schoonmaker appeared to be trying to do just that...when in fact, he's no better than Furguson, who actually looks like a TE, and not a tweener.

All you have to do is target your TE 16 times a game. He will probably have pretty good numbers and then you can say we have a dominant TE. Will any of it translate into winning games ? Probably not. I'd rather keep feeding CeeDee.

I got to hand it to you are front and center defending schoon pick.

I’ve been impressed with his blocking and he’s ok as a receiver

I still would have had an OL but he’s winning me over

Hendershot is the disappointment of the group but like you said the tight end opportunities have been limited. I expect the tight ends to improve as the season goes on.

Schoonmaker n Ferguson have a TD.
Granted they don't have the yards LaPorta does, but that's ok.
They don’t have the targets either
The first game they struggled but overall they’ve blocked really well and have made the most of the targets they’ve got
