I truly hope the Cowboys go heavy in the first five rounds on both lines. We were manhandled too many times last season. We lost the most talent on both lines more than any position. (Gregory, Williams, Collins). We always seem to lose in the playoffs because we are out muscled or beat down.

I’m going to throw up if I see another receiver drafted in the first round. As much as I think we can improve on Dak, all we will get is another Dak or Romo, that bargain guy who shines sometimes but can’t win the big one. We have enough depth at cornerback. We can find some promising running back in the sixth or seventh round. Won’t be too down if a great Safety or TE gets a nod but prefer they just stock up the lines.

Jones boys, if you’re reading this, just go heavy on both lines. Please. There’s some good interior linemen in our first round spot. There are some good defensive tackles. And the draft is heavy on the edges. We know Jerry is going to pony up for another WR anyways when reality sets in our new receiving core minus Gallup for several games with a Dak that hasn’t improved much, so build those fat guys up front.

Love the plan but we will see if they love it. The trenches on the Oline will be filled as they have left themselves NO other choice. Unfortunately WR is a need as we lost two big playmakers. Having said that WR’s generally don’t make that big of an impact year one unless they are all world.

Agreed!
We have to rebuild our Oline !

Yep, after picks 1 and 2, we will see if Jerry wants to sell tickets and gear or if he want to win a bowl.

In a perfect world, we could literally draft 2 interior linemen, 2 OTs, 2 DTs, and 2 EDGE. 1st-4th BPA, and then for insurance one at each 5th round pick.

Linemen are always at a premium as preseason injuries mount and rosters have to be set, so after taking care of our team, if we're lucky to have an overflow of young talent, let's trade some of our abundance for that solid (and cheaper in trade value) RB, TE, S or LB we need if the depth doesn't work out with those positions.

Next year, if Dak hasn't turned the corner, then we start talking about trading up for a franchise guy, assuming Dak didn't put us in the perfect position to replace him. Not a Dak Hater, but realistic that we may not see much better from him. At least we will have built a solid team around whomever we go with.

The only skill positions that they might draft in the top 3 rounds are TE and WR, IMO.

Stephen Jones basically said that if they draft defense early, it will be defensive front (DL or LB).

They're definitely going to draft at least 1 OL early.

It's pretty much seems from what I've been reading is ...

1) OL
2) DL/TE
3) TE/DL

WR is literally the second most valuable position in the nfl according to salaries. This idea that WR is some non valuable position is stupid stupid.

I'm all for having a good offensive line.. However it don't equal Wins.. We had a Oline of 4 first rounders Smith, Martin, Fredrick, Collins (he got a raw deal should of been a first) and a second C. Williams.. and got us one playoff win and a crappy defense... The FO is notorious for being reactionary.. Stick to the board and take BPA in positions of need.. A talent infusion is needed across the board..
