All this shows me is what I already know. Hoffman was by a mile the worst lineman this preseason
I have to say that I have NOT been impressed with many of the young lineman recently. But Bass and Richards give me some hope. Great start for both. Have much to show going forward.

Ball and Walenko have been nothing but garbage. Farniok dump was long overdue. Anyone that knows lineman knew he was a turd.

I agree on all points except Ball. He’s AWFUL at tackle (the 3rd preseason game confirmed that), but I highly recommend to go back and watch him play G in games 1 and 2. He was the best guard on the field by a mile and playing against starters. He and Bass are likely going to be the top 2 IOL backups next preseason.

So far so good with Bass. Definitely does not hurt to find gems like him.

Ok, Ill take Bass and Richards. Ball is too big with slow feet.

And he will be our backup center in the opener.

I like the film breakdown, was against non-starting type talent but I DEFINITELY see some good things with Bass. Really nice breakdown IMO overall. Enjoyed that. He probably needs another year of NFL caliber gym training but pretty darn good for a UDFA, absolutely.

I actually like him better than the guard that Buffalo took in the 2nd round. I'd rather have Bass, Richards, and Schoonmaker over the Buffalo guy.
I was saying even before the draft that Torrence just had bad feet. He needs to be in a gap blocking scheme with a lot of straight ahead, move your guy type blocking. He’s fine for that and is strong.

However, for Dallas’ inside-outside zone blocking scheme, both Richards and Bass are much better than him. They have great movement and nimble feet. Bass is super impressive in how he maneuvers and puts his man in a compromised position. I’ve rarely seen a late round pick or UDFA that have that kind of feet/movement right off the bat. Very impressive. Very.

It is difficult to find late round or undrafted OL that look like these two. They are great finds by Dallas and both probably have starting potential and will be Dallas’ primary backups this season. Bass especially has impressed me.

If Bass is able to hone his skills for center and be good there, he is going to quickly become a valuable commodity on the OL. He will be able to man any of the 3 interior OL positions, making sure that he is on the game day active roster.

Bass is very impressive. I'm impressed that he was a left tackle in college and has been so impressive in the move to right guard.

I'm officially declaring his new nickname as "Sea Bass" so he can kick some...

If he is good enough to be our LG next year and Tyler Smith our LT, our Oline will be in a really good place.

Or maybe Asim Richard's would be the better fit at LT and Smith can stay at Guard with Bass as our backup G.

Feels like we have some decent depth this season if these rookies keep stepping up.

Being able to help like Bass makes for a good C.
