Well, here I sit at almost 24-hrs copenhagen/skoal free. I currently have a step 1 patch on my arm and sucking on sunflower seeds

Any advice on how to get through this? I go through some serious feens, i.e. sweating, chills, angry(lasts 30 mins).

What I am finding the most difficult is not having anything under my lip and spitting. Gum, fake tobacco, or dental wax does not help curb that.

Think it is safe to go to two patches at once for a few days or is that too much nicotine?

Start smoking, thats what I did. lol

Toothpicks helped me quit smoking.

Ask doctor for Chantix? Does that help with other forms of tobacco other than smoking?

Nicotine gum.

Willpower. Just KNOW that you can beat the addiction and weather the storm. FIERCE Willpower.

I quit smoking cold turkey 2 years ago. After smoking 2.5 packs a day (50 cigs), and smoking for 27 years. If I can beat nicotine, anyone can.

Maybe you should consider vaping....

epipemods.com - is a popular vaping company with custom pipes and "pipe sauce"

Of course you are still working with nicotine, but you are avoiding all the other carcinogens and stuff.

Chantix helped me quit smoking. I had some of the most prevalent side effects such as bizarre dreams and disrupted sleep. Nothing major though, so I found it to be well worth the risk. Everybody's different however, and I know it can have severe long lasting adverse effects.

Chantix works by attaching to the nicotine receptors in the brain blocking nicotine from reaching them while at the same time releasing dopamine (the same effect nicotine has). I don't see why it wouldn't work for smokeless tobacco as well.

Try the Committ tablets. I smoked for 20 years and they worked for me. Never smoked another cigarette.

All i can say is good luck the only addicting thing I had and gave up was Diet Coke. I am now over two years without a soda after quitting cold turkey.

I used the Smokey Mountain Classic to kick a 30 year Copenhagen habit... Randy White did the same thing and is a spokesman for them...

I've tried that and I get a headache so bad it feels like my head is going to :bomb:

After 38 years I just quit. Carried some jolly rancher candies to have something in my mouth .....Stopped for 8 months , tried it one time and I was hooked again. Dipped another 19 months and then stopped cold turkey again. First three to five days are the worse..Drink a lot of water to flush the nicotine out of your body ....Once you do stop --make it a life long choice..You will never get over the addiction.. Try it 2 years down the road and you will still crave it..I still think about it and its been 7 years.

Good to know! What's better pouches or regular? Do you have to pack it like with regular dip?

I got one but it past the next day so I was down a day.

Find another addiction that will serve as a replacement:

exercise
coffee
chewing gum
healthy foods
etc

Good luck!

I dipped for 15 years and quit 4 years ago when my daughter was born.
As others have said, I believe it is willpower. My wife had tried to get me to quit for a long time but it never worked. I still get the urge every once in a while after 4 years!

Are these even close in taste to Cope? If so, which one is closest?

what is that stuff anyway?

I'm so glad I never picked up a tobacco habit.

Good luck - everything can be overcome with willpower. Don't let the tin control you.

I agree with one of the previous post that said to start smoking. There is less chance for cancer in the mouth and you don't need a spit cup. Enjoy the time you have here. No need going through life doing without these pleasures.

Not a chance I start smoking, hate it. It is dangerous for others too, dipping harms no one else. I never heard of second hand spit :)

Anyways, approaching 36 hours and I have smashed gummy worms between the lip and gum!
