That is my guess. It is the only reason why you would trade that many picks. It's definitely not a RB, WR, or CB.

It's really hard to imagine anything else. They do get their pick of the non-QBs, so I guess it's possible they simply have somebody rated as head and shoulders above the entire field and want to guarantee they get him. But it seems really unlikely.

i would be ok with michigan de kwity paye at 10.....knowing full well we whiffed on kevin brooks and taco.

if we were to "force" a pick barmore and paye are players i like.
but at 10....im not going there over pitts,parsons,surtain or sewell,slater or devontae smith.

Out here in the Bay Area sports radio is dissecting the trade and the qbs outside of Lawrence. The Qbs definitely have their flaws and they said if this doesn't pan out the way the Niners think it will it will set the organization back at least 5 years.

Jets will either take a QB or trade the pick for a QB needy team. If they were unwilling to deal to the Eagles, Wilson will be the pick and Darnold will be dealt.

Right! And its kind of like that's what they are about to do. 49ers have played the offseason game well in how they protect what they are trying to do in the draft so I'll I've them the benefit of the doubt but man......I honestly thought they were more interested in a veteran QB.

I’ve seen a lot of Hayes and honestly he’s worth a late round flier but I am not sure what kind of player he is. There were some questions at ND early about his motivation. Wasn’t nearly as explosive as say Julian Okwara.
