So, why do teams still try to beat him w/ coverage?

Oh, and BTW, Mariotta is looking great, largely due to LACK OF PRESSURE.

I only half-watched this game but I believe NE was missing 2 starting offensive linemen. It had a chain effect that it made it pretty easy to pressure Brady, which makes Brady very mortal. NE's problem is their atrocious defense. It is amazing how so many bad offenses have their best game of the season against NE.

This was clearly a trap game for NE - just came off a big win, playing a bad team, right before the bye. The whole team looked checked out of this one. Plus they had multiple OL injuries before & during the game that just derailed their blocking, so both the run and the pass game stunk. Special teams even crapped the bed from the word go.

Everybody knows you hit Brady to beat Brady, but most teams can't do it because his OL is usually good and he makes very fast reads. Brady missed some passes, but he also had guys not turning around to catch balls that bounced right off them, guys falling down on routes, they were sucking front to back as a unit. They'll probably come back from the bye and be back to normal.

The long-term problem this team has is that their defense is simply not good. Their front 7 is so slow that tight ends, receiving backs and mobile QBs can just clown on them repeatedly. They stunk against the Titans like everyone else, but normally their secondary is at least solid. It's all the shorter stuff that they're completely terrible at covering, to the point where what should be 5 yard plays are 10-15 yard plays, over and over again.

seriously... the guy folds all the time, he will never be better than a .500 qb in this league... we shoulda kept bledsoe

The Pats are having OL trouble and Gronk has been MIA most of the year. There's 16 years of tape on Brady. If he has a bad game, chances are it has nothing to do with the defense. Its still a team sport and, like any other QB , he still depends on others to do their job. Its not like he's missing guys with bad throws.

I would imagine you're either being sarcastic, or maybe didn't watch the game. Brady was missing his receivers, some quite badly.

That's a headscrstching statement. Bledsoe is enjoying retirement and profitable wine. By all accounts, he'd probably rather be where he is at then taking shots on Sunday.
