God I love these stories of the greatest generation...so many young men that did things that would make the youth of today crap their pants.

Read history, there are so many unheralded heros that did so many amazing things; thanks coach - even though you don't want the thanks

..I have about dozen WWII hist/bio books. Always great reads.

The crazy situations they lived through, makes one feel we're still at Disneyland.

It's silly honestly- when you read what 18 to 25 year old did....makes me sad that that generation is gone...my grandfather was a LC on Halseys staff on the MO at the signing of the peace accords...I'm so proud

Compared to most of the primates who have ever lived...except for maybe those born about 80 years ago, we ARE in Disneyland. Jamie Dimon (Wall St, JPMorgan) posited that due to AI and other advancements "our kids will have a 3.5 day work week and they'll live to 100." I think it's possible.

But it's only possible due to the sacrifice of these men. Salute.

Can you imagine today's Gen Z'ers having to handle a war like that??
Salute to coach Landry. IMO he is up there with some of the greatest men in American history.

I am sure today’s youth would step up just like every human generation before them has when the enemy is at the gates.

75 million dead by the end of it all. I pray our world must not go through it again.

This country is always at war. There's young men dying everyday serving this country.

I never get why the 70s Cowboys don't get as much claim as the 90s Cowboys. They won one less superbowl but were playing vastly better competition.

They were more consistent, had like 19-20 straight winning seasons, made 4 superbowls. The 90 cowboys were literally only contenders for 4 years (92-95)
