Tony La Russa Retires

Incredible how little respect is shown to legends of the sport.

Good baseball manager, but I don't have the least bit of respect for him as a man. He and his wife are trash and they raised their family to be trash too.

He knew he just won a championship by making some of the dumbest moves ever in a World Series. When that happens, you know you've gotten extremely lucky and the game has passed you by. Unfortunately, Ron Washington couldn't make him pay for his errors, that's the worst part.

Congrats on going out on top.

I'm bummed by the Rangers losing but I'm not going to trash this guy. I don't know him, or his family, personally so I can't speak on what kind of people they are outside of baseball.

No he isn't.

I hope you realise that he was talking about you. I'm sure you do, and you thought this reponse was clever, but none the less.

Oh I know who he was talking about. But then again, he thinks the direct insult method is classless, but his dry passive aggressive backhanded method to insult people is not?

Yeah, that's bbgun. It's wrong as long as it's no him doing it. Reminds me of another guy here too. Haven't seen him lately. Maybe he got ban.

Okay, Chachi. How is he white trash?

You mean besides the DUI, the public feuds he starts with other players and managers, the classless comments he makes about other teams, players, and coaches (which obviously rubbed off on his wife and kids to do the same damn thing)

The guy completely lacks class. (like me) His Animal Rescue Foundation was created to try and soften the view of his crude behavior by his publicist.

I give you credit bbgun. You didn't deny my claim. ;)

That's it? A DUI and some trash talking? Lots of people across the racial and class spectrum get nailed for drunk driving. If you told me he got his daughter pregnant or kept a three-legged dog chained to his double-wide trailer, the "white trash" angle might have some merit, but it doesn't.

Actually, he got his three-legged dog pregnant and keeps his daughters chained to the single wide.

best manager I've seen. He could go to the Pirates and turn them around.

I don't blame him...go out a winner, winning the way his team did. Would make for great memories to retire on.

Maybe, but I think the Pirates got one of the best managers in baseball last season.

Clint Hurdle is right up there with Jim Leyland and John Maddon. Whom I also think is better than Tony La Russa. (done a **** load more with a hell of a lot less than La Russa has)

I like Ron Washington, but he has an incredible team. He should have won the WS with this team TWICE now and didn't. The Rangers were better than both last years Giants and this years Cardinals. ....yet he lost both.

La Russa DEFINITELY isn't the best manager in baseball. Not by a freaking mile. John Maddon caves his head in with a feather, even worse if you consider he is actually carrying a war hammer.

yea he is, no matter you're personal hang up with him.

Well, now Bingo parlors and buffet lines will be moving slower than ever.

Best manager in baseball? No he isn't. John Maddon is the best manager in baseball.

If Maddon moves to a team with money, the Championships would pour in for him.
