Tony Mandarich is enjoying life behind the camera

Tony Mandarich has been called everything from "the incredible bulk" to "the incredible bust" and anything in between over the last 25 years, but there's one thing you never thought you'd hear the controversial former NFL offensive lineman described as: Model photographer.

That's what you'll find the second overall pick of the 1989 NFL draft doing now in Scottsdale, Ariz., as he now runs the Mandarich Models photography studio that specializes in fitness, glamour and boudoir.

Go ahead, insert your own beauty and the beast joke if you must, but Mandarich says he usually gets a different response when he tells old friends and teammates about his new line of work.

"The biggest response I get is, 'Let me know if you need an assistant,'" Mandarich joked.

"While the four players picked around him in the '89 draft — Troy Aikman (first overall), Barry Sanders (third), Derrick Thomas (fourth) and Deion Sanders (fifth) all went on to Hall of Fame careers, Mandarich endured three disastrous seasons in Green Bay and then was placed on the non-football injury list in 1992."

He came back and was a decent guard. There was hardly ANY of the experts that thought he would bust. No such thing as a "sure thing". From what I have heard, they changed some of the tests and things in the combine after he busted; trying to figure out what they missed.

4 out of the top 5 picks went to the HOF. That's got to be the best ever top 5 of a draft.

I just checked out his MM profile. He does pretty good work.

I'd link to it, but like it says in the article he does glamour photography. Glamour is NOT what you see in the mall store that *******ized the name. Glamour is the glamorization of the human figure much like Maxim.
