Odds on them both starting TC on PUP?

They may look good in workouts. As those clips tell us nothing. But this team still start players on PUP with these type of injuries. It is just what they do.
Lewis will probably be on that list as well.

If Tony does not start out on PUP. Then I bet he is on the sidelines working with trainers before he gets into the bulk of practices. And that is probably ok. A long way to go until game 1.

We still have medical employees reading on site....

While tightrope surgery is no joke, Steele faced a longer rehab process coming off ACL reconstruction surgery. Torn ACLs aren't the career-threatener they were some 10 years ago, but offensive linemen are heavily dependent on their lower half to achieve their desired footwork and blocking technique.

Steele looks incredibly spry for someone who's six months post-op.

MATT WALETZKO

Second year player Matt Waletzko is coming off a rookie season spent on injured reserve.

Waletzko brought an injury from college to the NFL that the Cowboys felt was significant enough to red shirt his rookie season in favor of surgery.

Now fully recovered from the surgery to repair his shoulder subluxation, Waletzko is ready to make an impact for the Cowboys.

He is already in the lead for the swing tackle role behind Tyron and Steele, and has even been getting some work at left guard.

They both should be good to go for game 1.

Nobody’s going to outwork Steele. That guy works hard.
How does this look?

Nick Harris: With today's game -- especially on the defensive side of the ball -- featuring more aspects of positionless football, being able to do multiple things is increasing in importance. I think it's the right thing to look for, and I'll use Tyler Smith as the example here. Naturally a guard, Smith had to slide out to tackle last season for the majority of the year which better prepared him to slide back inside when Tyron Smith healed up. Having the experience at tackle better prepared him for his guard responsibilities because he had a better understanding of what was going on with the guy next to him. It allowed Tyler Smith to be even better as a guard with the extra layer of understanding. The positional flexibility discussion has definitely been a part of Mike McCarthy's vocabulary, but I would attribute the influence more to Will McClay and his scouting staff. In the draft process, there's a big emphasis on finding guys that can do multiple things and they were able to score big in those areas in April's draft.

Then with Tyer Biadasz surrounded by Tyer Smith and Zach Martin. Tackles being Tyron Smith and Steele. Then Waletzko swing tackle.

(According to reports) Neither are going on PUP, that Steele will be eased into practice & Pollard is ready to go. But Jourdan Lewis is going on PUP.
