The ”experts” have told us that Tony’s injuries will have no effect on his performance this upcoming season and I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt

I just hope it not the same “experts” that told us the same thing about Gallup last year……

I am less concerned about the after effects of the injury than I am about the cumulative effects of being the every down back over the course of the season. It's one thing to do it when you're getting 10-12 carries a game as the #2 back. Many is the back who has failed when elevated to top dawg status and become the guy every DC spends 20 hours studying and prepping his team for the week before the game. I am crossing my fingers that Pollard remains his explosive self for at least ONE season. I think he will. McCarthy aint about to turn into Chuck Knox or Marty Schoettenheimer and start running the ball 40 times a game. That means Pollard should be able to continue to do most of his damage on the edges on a lean diet of 12-15 carries and 3-4 catches a game. I think if they continue to use him that way he will be fine. If they do what they did to Marion Barber and Felix Jones, trying to make a part time back into an every down back complete with the workload.. they will fail.. and so will Pollard.

This is why RB2 is important...and the O-line obviously...have we improved either ?

Who will be the RB when he gets injured again?
Or gets tired in the 4th quarter.

Are the fans going to turn on him and complain when he asks to come out for a play later in the game?

Tough to argue with.

They could theoretically keep Pollard in his usual role if they can get acceptable play out of Jones/Davis.

Personally I think Jones has plenty left, but the consensus doesn’t agree. If that doesn’t work out, it could become an issue for a team whose HC and new OC wants to “run the ball.”

To be fair has he had injury issues like a LVE.

Yes he's not a 20 plus carry guy but that's were the GM and coach comes in... improve the RB2 situation and as you should always do - improve the O-line. I would have rather a G or even the C the giants took right before us, than a TE in the second.

Why can't Pollard be a good RB? Where does this need come from to elevate him to great status?

Never been a carry the load back and is about 20lbs lighter than Zeke so will be interesting what happens in blocking.

Only 12:15 carries a game so that mean dak throwing the rest or we handing off to unproven backups I’m more concerned who is blocking for dak and who getting those dirty 3-1 3-2 or goal line tds like zeke

Every article I've read from the medical experts on his injuries seem to point to minor if no issues returning. Usually it's the mental side of things that people need to overcome first then the physical.

If Tyler is our LG, then yes.

Means Tyron is healthy and at LT. Hopefully Steele can be back for game 1.

Smith at LG is better than McGovern.

Rb2, though. Nope.

Yes but the fly in the ointment is not if but when Tyron gets hurt...and for how long.
