Injured Tony Ugoh waived by Colts

9/8/2010 5:37:09 PM

The Indianapolis Colts have waived injured offensive lineman Tony Ugoh, their second round pick from 2007 out of Arkansas according to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com.

They team had envisioned Ugoh as a long-term left tackle, but he lost their faith after playing in 11 games as a rookie and 15 in 2008. He started four games last year after Charlie Johnson won the job.

Indianapolis intended to try him at left guard during training camp, but a foot injury to Johnson meant Ugoh had to play left tackle.

Even though he's injured I would definetely take a chance on him. Sign him, then IR him and see what he can do.

I thought he played so well in his rookie season. Wonder what happened. If I'm the Cowboys, I'd have our medical staff take a good long look at him. Maybe we can do another Parcells/Colombo & have ourselves a very good starting OT in 2011. Heck, can we put him on PUP & see what he can do later this season? On 2nd thought, it's probably too late in the season to PUP him.

dude has been awful since a decent rookie season, he lost his starting job before he got hurt

not really sure he brings much to the table at this point...I certainly wouldnt waste a roster spot on him this year

me too, i would take a chance on him; you might be able to get some tips from him on the colts plays etc...

Like some cadances peyton manning has, or rb or wr does on a certain route, or offensive or defensive linemen does

doubt he gets through enough teams to make it to us on the waiver wire

even if he did I would pass

I don't think he'll ever be an NFL tackle, but I wouldn't mind giving him a shot to move to guard.
